I'm A Celeb's Josie Gibson spills on unaired Fred Sirieix showdown

Josie Gibson admits she did feel the strain during her kitchen row with Fred Sirieix but they had a simple way of working through it.

The camp-mates famously fell out over their cooking during their time in the I'm A Celebrity jungle. Fred was originally camp chef, but very quickly things turned sour when Josie was given the role and the First Dates maître d' felt she was doing it all wrong.

Speaking on This Morning to her colleagues Dermot O'Leary and Christine Bleakley, she opened up on the fall out and says she still loves Fred, despite what went on before meal time. Josie, who also confessed she had a serious wobble even before stepping foot in camp and one days before she left, says the issue with the Frenchman was quickly resolved.

"There was friction, but the thing is me and Fred really get on, we love each other," she said on the show to the co-hosts. "We had a ding-dong but we had a proper showdown and we did a draw and hugged it out. I love Fred, he's a great guy but it was blown a bit out of proportion.

"I don't know what they showed or how it was edited, but he's a trained chef. I don't think he thought I knew what I was doing, but we've had some deep and meaningful conversations. We did have a ding dong in the kitchen!" During a chat after his exit, Fred admitted his mum was angry with him over his feud with Josie.

"This morning, I spoke to my mum, she called me because she knew I was out, she said to me: 'Frederick'. You know why she calls me Frederick? Because she's upset! 'Frederick, what did you do with Josie? Why were you standing on the top there telling her what to do, what was going through your mind?' I got a telling off from my mum!," he revealed.

Meanwhile, upon her jungle exit, Josie let slip that she and Fred had a 'showdown', which wasn't aired to viewers. Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, Josie revealed: "I was trying to cook and Fred was criticising everything I do... I think I put him straight at the end. In the end, I just had to settle it with a showdown. We had a showdown in the end and I won."

Josie he didn't quite manage to secure a place in the final as eventual winner Sam Thompson, Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage finished in the top three. Despite failing to win the series, Josie, 38, said she had a ball – and feels the right man won.

She gushed: "I'm so proud of myself, I got further than I ever thought. My spider phobia is off the scale. But was the last woman standing! I've been in there six months, one day is like three rolled into one  it feels like forever."
