It was another show of resilience from Liverpool on Saturday as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park.

And it was landmark day for Mohammed Salah, whose equalising goal signified his 200th goal in all competitions for the club. Harvey Elliott then provided the champagne moment with an injury time winner.

But despite being top of the Premier League, Jurgen Klopp's focus will also now be on the January transfer window. The Reds are struggling for defensive cover after Joel Matip was ruled out for the rest of the season, with the German manager is also reportedly targeting another midfielder.

Here's a round-up of the latest news from Anfield.......

Klopp breaks remarkable Ferguson record

Jurgen Klopp has eclipsed the record previously held by Sir Alex Ferguson for late winners in the Premier League after Liverpool's 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace.

During his 26 years at Manchester United, Ferguson's teams had a penchant for scoring late goals. Stoppage time was even dubbed 'Fergie Time' by fans due to the volume of late strikes bagged by the Red Devils - but his record has now been beaten.

Harvey Elliott plundered a 91st minute winner for Liverpool at Selhurst Park to send them top of the Premier League. His strike was the 17th 90th-minute winning goal Liverpool have scored in the Premier League; one more than the 16 overseen by Ferguson.

Salah presented with special shirt

Jurgen Klopp admitted Liverpool are indebted to Mohamed Salah after he was presented with a special shirt by his teammates to mark his 200th goal in all competitions for the club.

His 76th minute strike at Selhurst Park made him just the fifth Liverpool player to reach that milestone for the club. And Klopp revealed he had been serenaded by his teammates after the match as he summed up just how integral Salah has been over the years.

“We’ve carried that shirt already for two weeks with us, now finally we could give it to him!" said Klopp afterwards. “Incredible number for a super special, super-super special player. I don’t know how often he saved us with a goal he scored in the right moment. It was a pretty loud reception for him in the dressing room, when I gave him the shirt with the 200 on the back."

Alisson makes mentality claim

Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker's comments after Saturday's win at Crystal Palace suggest the current team are mirroring the 'mentality monsters' that won the 2019/20 Premier League title.

"A winning team needs that kind of mentality to keep on coming from behind," he said, after returning from the injury which kept him out of his team's last three games. A big first-half save from the Brazilian kept an under-par Liverpool in the game at 0-0, while he needed a big stop to keep out Joachim Andersen's header deep into stoppage-time.

"Of course we want to do the things better early but sometimes the things you plan, they don’t come out," he continued. "We didn’t perform today in our best way but in the last 20 minutes we improved with the ball."
