I'm A Celeb fans in tears as champ Sam Thompson and pal Pete Wicks celebrate

I'm A Celebrity winner Sam Thompson had fans in tears over his celebration with Pete Wicks, moments after he was crowned King of the Jungle.

The star, 31, was crowned King of the Jungle following a public vote ahead of tonight's live final episode on ITV. Sam beat Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage to the throne. Boxer Tony was in second place while Farage placed in third.

Sitting on the throne looking close to tears, Sam Thompson added: "I feel overwhelmed, I didn't even think I would get invited on the show." Asked if he had a message for voters, he said: "I am so grateful, I have dreamed of being on this show. You just made a boy's dream come true."

After Sam was given the jungle crown and sceptre by Josie Gibson, he rushed over the ITV show's iconic bridge to be reunited with his best mate Pete – days after leaving fans in tears with the emotional jungle meet up. Ex The Only Way Is Essex star Pete run towards Sam and scooped him up into a big hug as the MIC star jumped in to Pete's arms to celebrate Sam's victory.

However, Pete soon realised how high up on they were as he was seen briefly coming out of the emotional moment and grabbing the side of the wobbling bridge. Fans were distracted by the emotional moment between the best pals as one wrote: "why am i crying watch sam and pete reunite for the second time in a week? #ImACeleb?"

"Noooooo not Pete crying on the bridge with Sam #ImACeleb," another said. "the british public sat at home watching sam being crowned and hugging pete at the end of the bridge," a third penned alongside two teary eyed emojis.

And a fourth declared: "that sam and pete reunion was everything i wanted it to be and more #ImACeleb".

The 31-year-old former Made In Chelsea star beat ex-boxer Tony into second place in the public vote. Sam said: "I never knew I could be as happy as I am right now, it's been magical. It's like a dream I don't want you to wake me up from. I got asked for my down moments in there and I don't know, even the moments I felt low I was like 'I am feeling low in the jungle'.

"There were so many amazing people I never thought I would get to spend time with." Sam may have a close bond with Pete outside of the jungle but he also formed tight friendships within camp, too. Sam was seen growing close to ex-boxer Tony as an unlikely, but touching, friendship formed between the pair.

Paying tribute to Sam during the final, runner up Tony said: "Sam is the most unique person I have met in my life. He is the best. I predicted this ten days ago. I knew when I first met him, he deserves it and I am made up for him." The pair developed a close friendship and Tony said Sam was like his "fifth child" and was invited to go to his Liverpool house for Christmas.
