Strictly's Layton and Nikita spark concern from fans with personal remark

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing have shared their fears for actor Layton Williams after his professional dance partner, Nikita Kuzmin, made comment on his personal life.

The pairing, who are favourites to claim the Glitterball Trophy in the Strictly final next week, had just performed the Charleston in the semi-final when Nikita, 25, was overcome with emotion while speaking about the dedication that 29-year-old Bad Education star Layton had given to the Strictly process, which has helped them get three perfect scores in their run to the final.

Nikita was speaking to Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman and struggled to get his words out as he paid tribute to Layton. He said: "I know he makes it seem easy, but you are the most hardworking person I've been in a room with. You try to bring joy to everyone, no matter what happens outside, no matter what happens with your personal life, I'm not going to go into that."

The pro dancer continued before becoming tearful as Layton began crying: "You always bring joy. You make me shine with how much you shine. You are my best friend. This is so special, I'd love to have my first final with you." The couple then embraced as the other professionals and celebrities applauded their efforts.

Following the emotional words, Strictly fans were left concerned about Layton and what has been happening in his personal life that he has had to overcome to perform in the live shows. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, many fans expressed their concern, with one asking: "What did Nikita mean about Layton's personal life? Genuine question #Strictly."

Others commented on Nikita's speech, with one posting on the social media site: "Nikita is such a precious little human and we don’t deserve him!". Another added on X: "Nikita cries, i cry #Strictly."

The comments came after the pair had been awarded a perfect score from the judges with them all giving 10 points each for their Charleston. Layton and Nikita then repeated the feat of being awarded a perfect 40 score after they performed a Paso Doble.

Their efforts meant that they topped the leaderboard ahead of Coronation Street star Ellie Leach. EastEnders star Bobby Brazier was third along with pro dancer Dianne Buswell, while Annabel Croft was propping up the leaderboard as she completed the semi-final line-up.

There had been rumours swirling about Layton's 'mystery' boyfriend and he gave a sneaky glimpse of him to his fans earlier in the year when he took to his Instagram Story with a photo of a mystery man wearing a cap, dropping a heart emoji in the caption. Alongside a second photo, he wrote: "Yes, that was a soft launch. No, you ain't getting his @."
