Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has made history by becoming the first to make more than $1billion.

After just nine months on the road, the US pop superstar’s show is now officially the highest earning tour of all time. Taylor, 33, has smashed the old record held by Sir Elton John, whose Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour raked in $939.1million over five years.

Data from music analytics firm Pollstar revealed Taylor has earned $1.04billion – or £828million in UK money – after selling 4.35 million tickets across 60 dates. Each show generated nearly £14million, with fans paying an average of £190.50 per ticket.

The cash is still rolling in for Taylor, too. Pollstar estimates further dates in 2024 could see her rake in an eye-watering $2billion – or £1.6billion. Taylor, who last month topped the charts with Is It Over Now, has almost doubled the £462million Beyonce made from her 2023 Renaissance World Tour. Bruce Springsteen (£304million), Coldplay (£259mill-ion) and Harry Styles (£232million) are the other top tour earners.

Pollstar’s Andy Gentler confirmed Taylor’s tour is “the single highest-grossing trek of all time”, adding: “She has accomplished something extraordinary.”
