I took a trip to Boots to find the best festive candle fragrances to buy this season

Boots is the place to shop for all your skincare, makeup, and fragrance needs, but you might not realise that the retail giant has even more to offer. On a recent trip to the store, I stumbled across a range of Christmas candles from popular brands Yankee Candle, Woodwick, and more.

Candles have a place in your home at all times of year, but especially now when many people are trying to make their space a snug oasis away from the cold. While you can splash out on candles from the likes of The White Company and Neom elsewhere, at Boots you can nab yourself some lovely alternatives with prices starting at £7.50.

After smelling just about every festive scent they had available at Boots, here are my top picks for every fragrance fanatic this season. From sweet baking scents, to earthy pine tree options, there's a candle in this round-up to suit all tastes - I even found a Pomegranate Candle that was just like Jo Malone, but for a fraction of the price.

At this time of year, the Yankee Christmas Eve candle is one of the most popular picks and I can see and smell why. The festive red jar doubles up as a gorgeous decoration, and the scent of sugared plums and candied fruits will fill your home with a delicious fragrance. If you're a fan of Woodwick candles, it's more than likely that you've smelt their classic Fireside scent. The packaging is also very similar, so you won't even have to light it and it will still look stylish in your home.
