Fred Sirieix appeared to put his jungle challenges behind him on Thursday evening as he enjoyed a soak in his luxury hotel.

The First Dates star was voted out of this year's series of I'm A Celebrity on Tuesday after irritating viewers by interfering with co-star Josie Gibson's cooking. The Frenchman, who embarked on several Bushtucker trials during his time in camp, is clearly delighted to now be back in more familiar surroundings.

Taking to his Instagram account, the 51-year old shared a snap of himself relaxing in a lavish bubble bath with stunning views of Australia's Gold Coast behind him. Fred captioned his shot: "Gone are the smells of cockroaches, rats, smoke, sweat, fish guts, blood, animal organs and rotten fruits. It’s good to be back! x."

Many of Fred's 929,000 followers on the platform criticised the star in the comments section, however, hitting out at his treatment of Josie, Nella Rose and Sam Thompson. Fans pointed out that had he behaved in a different manner, his jungle stint may have lasted much longer.

"I found your treatment of Josie concerning," one user wrote. "You can across as a controlling man... not confident in a woman cooking. You never gave her a chance. You had no faith in her. She's so adorable. You probably knocked her confidence too. She was so patient with her responses. You were my winner until your attitude toward Josie... not good... never mind your out now... enjoy your bath."

Another commented: "Week 1 we were fuming with Nella for speaking to you the way she did, as we loved you from First Dates and Gino and Gordon show, by the end, we watched through gritted teeth as your behaviour and attitude was concerning. Your part on this show will have lost you a lot of people that liked you before."

A third added: "If you wasn't so rude to your fellow contestants you would have been in camp longer." And a fourth said: "Disappointed when you spoke to Sam in such an awful way... play with your toys and the men do things etc... not a nice way to come across."

Earlier this week, meanwhile, Fred revealed his own mother was less than impressed with his treatment of This Morning's Josie. Appearing on This Morning via a video link, he admitted: "This morning, I spoke to my mum, she called me because she knew I was out, she said to me, 'Frederick'. You know why she calls me Frederick? Because she's upset! 'Frederick, what did you do with Josie? Why were you standing on the top there telling her what to do, what was going through your mind?' I got a telling off from my mum!"

He continued: "[She said] 'Frederick! I don't want to listen to you, this is unacceptable, you can't do that! I don't want you to do it again today.' I said: 'Mum, what do you mean?' She did not understand I was no longer in the jungle, I was out, it's a game.

"I had to explain to her, she said: 'Frederick, if you do that again!' and I said: 'Mum, I'm no longer in the jungle so I'm not going to do it!' She said: 'Frederick, do not do it again!' and I said: 'Mum, I promise you I'm not going to do it again, next time Josie is cooking, I will sit down and say nothing!' [She said]: 'That's good Frederick, but if you do it again, I am going to be very upset with you!' She was mad!"
