Paddy McGuinness turned down telly job after being asked to strip on camera
Paddy McGuinness has revealed the TV gig he turned down after refusing to agree to one of its requirements, which would have had him get nude on camera.
The Take Me Out star has never been fussy when it comes to what shows he'll host, having presented everything from Top Gear to Stars in their Cars throughout his impressive career in media. However, Paddy has now admitted that he rejected an offer for The Real Fully Monty after being asked to get his kit out on camera for the ITV reality show.
The Lancashire native recalled that he was initially on board with the idea, but backed out when he discovered he'd have to strip on the job.

"And they were like, ‘Er, you will have to get your c**k out’ and I said, ‘Hang on a minute, no one wants to see that’." Paddy, who has three kids with ex-wife Christine, then said that he'd been "scarred" by watching Naked Jungle in 2002. "So I passed on that one because I’m still of an era where I remember Keith Chegwin doing Naked Jungle and I’m like, ‘You’re at a bit of a low ebb there’.”
The Real Fully Monty, which sees celebrities strip off for charity, was ultimately hosted by Alexander Armstrong alongside Diversity's Ashley Banjo. Since its 2017 premiere, it has become one of ITV's most successful shows with high ratings and nine specials.

Paddy has recently revealed he’s going back on tour because he’s run out of money after splitting from his wife Christine. The couple are believed to be going through a divorce - while the comedian's income has been dented after the BBC decided to axe Top Gear, which he had co-hosted in 2019. This month, Paddy announced his new stand-up tour - which will see him go on the road in 2024 and 2025 - and he has been appearing on TV to promote the new show.
On Wednesday, he was a guest on ITV’s This Morning where he joined the sofa with hosts Emma Willis, 47, and Rylan Clark, 35. Show host Emma Willis asked: “Why have you waited eight years?” And the comedian, very honestly, admitted: “Erm, well the money's run out now so it took about eight years to spend it all and I'm like, 'I've got to build it back up'.
“So weirdly, writing a tour and putting one on does take a lot of your time. When we had the breather from Top Gear, I'd been planning it for a long time, I went, 'There's a window there'. So I start it next year but towards the back end of next year. And then it goes into 2025.”
