Michael Clifford of 5 Seconds of Summer has become a first-time dad!

The guitarist and his wife Crystal Leigh took to Instagram to share their happy news and revealed a string of pictures of their newborn daughter as well as her name. Their news comes just weeks after Michael and his bandmates completed their The 5 Seconds of Summer Show, with concerts across the globe.

Taking to his Instagram page, the couple looked overjoyed as they cradled their newborn from moments after she was born, to napping at home with her. Captioning their post, Michael and Crystal said: "The love of our life has arrived, meet Lua," alongside a white heart emoji.

The upload which has racked up over 100,000 likes in just a matter of minutes was soon flooded with celebratory messages from celebrities and fans alike. Actor Taylor Lautner gushed: "Congrats you two." While Aubrey Cleland commented: "The princess is here!! Love you already Lua and your parents are pretty dang cool!"

Liz Hemmings, the mother of Michael's bandmate Luke commented: "She's perfect. Congratulations to you both and welcome Lua." All Time Low star Alex Gaskarth exclaimed: "Yeaaaa buddy!" Meanwhile, fans were also quick to send their messages of congratulations, with one penning: "Lua is such a beautiful name oh my gosh congratulations." A second typed: "This is the sweetest thing ever. My heart is exploding."

Speaking about the arrival of Lua Stevie Clifford, the couple told People that she was born on October 30 in Georgia, Crystal's home state. Speaking about his wife being in labour, the rocker said: "It was really hard for me to watch her go through labour for so long, especially towards the end when we had a few complications. I felt so helpless but she stayed really strong.

"During the hard parts, I was crying and she wasn't. My only role in helping was feeding her ice chips, fanning her, spraying her with this water mister thing and holding her hand super tight, she called me the ice chip lord." Michael went on to suggest that his bandmates, Ashton Irwin, Calum Hood and Luke are yet to meet their daughter due to them still being in Georgia but he was looking forward to introducing her to them.

Before the tour ended, during their show in Manchester, Michael told the crowd that he will be going from performing in front of thousands each night to a "house covered in poop." Luke interjected, adding he would be able to teach Clifford's daughter how to wear make-up.
