It's official, the Purple One is the nation's favourite Quality Street - and now there's very good news for fans of the hazelnut and caramel-filled chocolate classic.

With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to stock up on your favourite sweet festive treats. And this year, there's no need to fight over the last purple Quality Street because it now comes in a bar form.

Bethany Towell, from Scotland, took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share a picture of the bars she'd spotted in her local Farmfoods. And they cost just 59p!

Bethany shared a photo showing boxes of both the Purple One and Orange Crunch - and people were in disbelief at the price.

"Is there a certain limit to buying please? Anyone know?" one person asked. "Don't want tons but maybe 6 of each on offer for kids in street x." Another suggested: "Ummm think you better get some in and stock up maybe lol xxxxxx."

It comes after Nestle announced a new combination earlier this year, the new Collisions bar, which blends together The Purple One and the Green Triangle. The result is a sweet treat featuring caramel, creamy hazelnut, and crunchy hazelnut pieces in three chocolatey layers.

But since the product's launch, fans of Quality Street have been divided over whether the bar is worth the hype or not - some have said they can't wait to try it, and others have claimed they were "let down" after getting their hands on a bar and tasting it for themselves.

A discussion erupted after a shopper shared a photo of the bar on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook , where one fan wrote: "My new favourite chocolate," while another said: "My two favourites in one," and a third excitedly posted: "Looking forward to sampling this!"

Someone else said the idea behind the bar was "different and interesting", however, some who have tried the chocolate have been less than impressed - with one person even claiming they "binned" it. They said: "I got one last week. Love both sweets individually but wow this was so sweet. First time ever I've binned chocolate!"

Another commenter shared: "Didn't like it, tasted nothing like the actual chocolate was disappointed," as someone else also wrote: "A bit of a let down - first time I've ever left chocolate," and a fourth revealed: "It was strange. One side I loved ... The other side, not so much."
