Netflix's 'incest' Christmas film Family Switch leaves viewers laughing for days

Despite scoring a measly 45 per cent on the film review site Rotten Tomatoes, Netflix's Christmas movie Family Switch has been dubbed 'hilarious' by viewers who have pushed it to the number one spot on the streaming platform in the US.

Starring Jennifer Garner, Rita Moreno, and Ed Helms in the flick, it follows a family who descends into chaos days before Christmas when a rare cosmic event causes the parents to swap bodies with their teenage kids.

Based on the book 'Bedtime For Mommy' by Amy Krouse-Rosenthal, it also stars Emma Myers, who shot to fame as Enid Sinclair, in Netflix's hit series, Wednesday alongside Jenna Ortega.

Despite being a Christmas movie, there is one questionable scene where the brother and sister commit incest by kissing. This is because the married couple swap bodies with their two teenage children, and the two siblings end up getting hands-on with one another.

During the scene, the daughter in her mother's body is joined by a group of friends. One of her friends tells the group that "couples need a minimum of 12 kisses a day to sustain their relationship." The siblings, in the mother-father bodies, end up kissing to the delight of their friends.

Putting the incest to one side, viewers of the film have been flocking to social media to share their delight over the 'hilarious' Christmas movie. Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer gushed: "Watching #FamilySwitch it’s hilarious laughed at one point until I cried! # Netflix."

Other people commented on Jennifer Garner's youthful looks. One person added: "I love the freedom that Jennifer Garner took back over her life. And she is aging backward. This #FamilySwitch movie is hilarious. I have screamed several times. This is good family comedy writing. Dad or Alive!"

One viewer gushed they wanted another Netflix crossover inspired by the film. They wrote: "Really enjoyed #FamilySwitch. Funny, well acted and tons of heart. But it really made me wanna see a body-swap episode of #Wednesday where Enid and Wednesday swap for an ep. Think Jenna and Emma would crush it."

And another viewer penned about it: "This has no business being so funny." Someone else wrote: "No… like I actually mean this. #FamilySwitch is such an amazing movie!! Huge fan. Love it!"
