James Maddison lifts lid on Declan Rice and admits he "hates" Arsenal decision
James Maddison claims Declan Rice is a “top player” but “hates” him for moving to Arsenal.
Rice completed a £105m move to Arsenal in the summer from Premier League rivals West Ham. He has proven an inspired signing for the Gunners and has helped the side to top spot.
The midfielder has made 21 appearances for Arsenal and has scored twice - against Chelsea and Manchester United. England teammate Maddison has given his verdict on the Arsenal star and hailed his abilities despite not being a fan of his move to the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking with Amazon Prime, the former Leicester playmaker said: “Yeah, [he’s got everything]. He’s technically really, really good.
“We do passing for England in training. He is a joke when it comes to low-cut passes, zingers. I think he’s a top, top player. I hate that he plays for Arsenal.”

Rice will be aiming to play a role for Arsenal again on Tuesday night as they do battle with Luton at Kenilworth Road. While he will be attempting to keep the Gunners at the top of the Premier League, his England colleague Maddison will not be in action.
The Tottenham star is out until at least the new year after suffering an ankle injury in the defeat to Chelsea. Before picking up the problem, he had scored three and provided five assists in the Premier League.

He had shown similar form 12 months ago for Leicester to secure a spot in the England squad for the Qatar World Cup. Rice was thrilled to see Maddison included.
“Delighted for him,” he said at the time. “Top player and person. Fully deserved his call-up and can’t wait to see him show his quality on the biggest stage.”
Rice and Maddison have already faced off once in the Premier League this season. The first North London derby of the season ended 2-2.
Cristian Romero scored an own-goal before Heung Min-Son equalised for Spurs. Bukayo Saka put Arsenal back ahead in the second half only for the Tottenham captain to net again just a minute later.
Arsenal and Tottenham do not meet again until April with the second instalment of the North London derby. Maddison will hope to be fit by then.
Ange Postecoglou’s side have missed the midfielder during his absence having gone four matches without a victory in the Premier League. They did however manage to come from behind to secure a point against Manchester City at the Etihad last time out.
