Chrissy Teigen sobbed after she 'saw baby Jack' during ketamine therapy
Chrissy Teigen said she “cried and cried” after she “saw baby Jack” during a ketamine therapy session on her birthday.
The model and cookbook author took to social media as she revealed how she celebrated her 38th birthday over the weekend, and surprised her followers as she shared details of an experimental treatment session she underwent. Ketamine therapy is used to help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder, and low doses of the anaesthetic medication - which can have hallucinogenic effects - is used during the session.
“I had a really nice birthday. Went to to see my friends @flamingo_estate, had a beautiful lunch with friends, then did ketamine therapy and saw space and time and baby jack and some weird penguins and cried and cried and cried,” Chrissy wrote on Instagram.

“Then laid with my babies, then hot pot, then hung with my best friend,” she added, referring to her husband of 10 years, John Legend.
John Legend talks about sentimental family link to his newborn daughter's nameIn 2020, Chrissy and John shared the devastating news that they had lost their third child, son Jack, at 20 weeks due to the life-threatening condition partial placenta abruption, which is when the placenta detaches from the womb depriving the baby of oxygen and causing heavy bleeding in the mother.
She posted heartbreaking images of her delivering their baby on social media, and has openly discussed details of her agonising loss, which she called a miscarriage at the time. Two years later, during Propper Daley's A Day of Unreasonable Conversation summit, Chrissy admitted it was her husband John who made her realise she had an abortion, not a miscarriage.
“Let's just call it what it was. It was an abortion. An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance,” she stated. “And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago.”
Chrissy, who is mother to Luna, 7, Miles, 5, Esti, 10 months, and Wren, 5 months, said she had to make a “lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions” as it became clear during her pregnancy “that he would not survive, and that I wouldn’t either without any medical intervention.”
After the Supreme Court decision in June to overturn the Roe v Wade ruling, which protected abortion rights in the US, Chrissy said John helped her realise she had an abortion.
“I fell silent, feeling weird that I hadn't made sense of it that way,” she confessed. “And I became really frustrated that I didn't, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion.”
