Fred Sirieix fought to do the Bushtucker Trial - but ended up "disappointed".

The First Dates star, 51, was adamant he should be the one to take on Celebrity Distressing Rooms in the latest I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! episode. In camp he was very vocal in demanding to take part with Marvin Humes also wanting to be involved, as neither of them had done a trial yet. Once he arrived at jungle clearing, host Ant then explained the Trial to Fred: “This is celebrity distressing rooms.

"As you can see Fred, this Trial is made up of 5 dressing rooms. You’ve got to search each dressing room to try and find stars. Once you get a star, all you’ve got to do is pop it in your star bag. And there are 9 stars in total to find.” Dec added: “Beware, there might be a few surprises along the way.”

As he went to the first room he unveiled the name to be: Dame Judi Stench. He had two minutes to find one star in the room. As he found rotten veg and critters Dec said: "She’s left it in a right tip.” Fred yelled: “The stench in here!” Ant replied: “Dame Judi Stench, innit!”

Fred then faced searching for two stars, with two minutes inside ‘Rat’ Damon’s dressing room, but failed to find them. Next, he faced a room entitled, ‘Pecklan Donnelly’ filled with pigeons and he grabbed two more stars. In the next dressing room, belonging to ‘Dolly Python’, Fred found one star in a wig but chucked a bag to one side that had a star in it.

Ant reminded him: “Check things properly Fred!” Then finally in the ‘Bruce Sing-Steen’ room Fred faced green ants. And he ripped a guitar off the wall, through which he was meant to put his hand to find a star. Distracted around the room looking in other places Fred yelled: “This is disgusting! Where are they?”

He completed the Trial with seven out of nine stars and said: “I’m disappointed I didn’t get nine. I did my best, I really did.” The First Dates star recently landed himself in hot water once more after frustrating viewers with his negative reaction to Josie Gibson becoming camp chef.

He has already fallen out with contestant Nella Rose over a comment he made about being old enough to be her father. It came after another confrontation between Nigel Farage and Fred, as the former UKIP leader and the TV personality got into a row over fishing and its effect on the oceans. The conversation was sparked after fellow camp-mate Josie added some leftover eel into the rice for breakfast.

Fred, who previously held the role of camp chef but has now been placed on pot-washing duty by new leader Nella, quickly clashed with the This Morning presenter over her cooking methods, arguing, "There is a way to cook the rice. If not, the rice tastes bitter and it's really unpleasant in the morning, so hopefully they'll get it right."

Nella became frustrated and insisted, "It's just rice. I'm not going crazy, it's just rice. I'm going back to sleep." The conflict comes just days after she asked Fred if they were living in a "camp or a dictatorship", after he complained that Josie and Nella's dishwashing standard was unacceptable.
