Netflix viewers 'disgusted' by unnecessary incest scene in new Christmas film

Family Switch viewers weren't happy to see an incest scene in the latest Netflix series.

The Christmas film stars Jennifer Garner, Rita Moreno and Ed Helms in the flick which follows a family who descends into chaos days before Christmas when a rare cosmic event causes the parents to swap bodies with their teenage kids. The movie appears to take inspiration from the plot of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis.

The daughter, played by finds herself in her mum's body while the son finds himself in his dad’s body, and vice versa. However, the concept takes a dark turn as the two siblings get hands on with one another.

During the scene, the daughter in her mother's body is joined by a group of friends. One of her friends tells the group that "couple need a minimum of 12 kisses a day to sustain their relationship."

The daughter urges that she kisses her husband 14 times a day but her friends don't buy it and demand they put on a show for them. The siblings, in the mother-father bodies, end up kissing to the delight of their friends.

Viewers who looked past the "comedy" in the scene took to social media to share their frustrations. One wrote: "Marks a real low point body-swap comedies as it steals from all others before it without compunction. But you can thank your lucky stars they don’t go for the lowest hanging fruit: incest jokes.

“Just kidding. Those are there. I had you," they added. A second put: "The incest in Family Switch was NOT needed."

A third typed: "The random incest in Family Switch caught me so off guard." Despite the outrage, Jennifer appeared to be in good spirits whilst at the premiere of her latest film this week, with her putting on an animated display on the red carpet.

The acting sensation, 51, is among the cast of the comedy film Family Switch, which is now available to watch on streaming platform Netflix. Jennifer stars alongside the likes of Ed, 49, and Rita, 91, in the project.

The film had its premiere in Los Angeles, California, on Wednesday ahead of its release. Some of the cast were in attendance for the occasion, including Jennifer - who's been in films like 13 Going on 30 (2004) and Elektra (2005).

Jennifer playfully posed on the red carpet at the AMC The Grove 14, where the event was held. She was seen laughing and dancing alongside some of her colleagues, with Jennifer seemingly enjoying herself at the premiere this week.
