ITV Deal or No Deal fans shocked as they spot 'Steven Gerrard' in audience
Deal or No Deal fans were shocked when they thought they had spotted none other than Steven Gerrard in the audience.
Viewers flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to comment on the audience member’s striking resemblance to the famous footballer – but it turned out the man was the partner of a contestant on Monday afternoon’s show.
Nurse Sofia took to the stage to take on the banker and said her boyfriend Dan was in the audience but “didn’t want to be on camera”. Host Stephen Mulhern wasn’t having any of it and rushed over to sit on his lap, encouraging cameras to zoom in on him, much to poor Dan’s embarrassment.
And fans couldn’t get over how much Dan looks like Liverpool legend Gerrard, with one writing: “Steven Gerrard is on #DealOrNoDeal.” “Why is Steven Gerrard in the audience?” another commented: “Nah that’s Steven Gerrard,” a third chimed in, as a fourth said: “The love child of Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso on #DealOrNoDeal today.”

The new series of Deal or No Deal – made famous by Noel Edmonds – kicked off on November 20 on its new home on ITV with new host Stephen Mulhern at the helm. In its first week it attracted more than 2 million viewers.
Stephen told how Noel Edmonds, who presented the show on Channel 4 for 11 years, wished him luck taking over - but only after pranking him. He shared: “I was doing a magic show at a private party and halfway through my magic act, I hear, ‘Hello, Stephen.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ And then, instantly, I see what looks like Gandalf walking towards the stage in the whole get-up.

They’re going to try and get me double time. I’m slightly freaking out at this point because I don’t know what he’s going to do. He’s got a big old stick. He says ‘We need to have a conversation, you and I. In fact, let me put it a different way. Deal Or No Deal’. He takes off his mask. It’s Noel Edmonds! I could not believe that. He was friends with the guy whose party it was.”
Noel, 74, went on to wish Stephen luck and the pair ended up speaking for nearly two hours. Stephen said of predecessor Noel: “He’s so humble, so gracious. He told me ‘When they first brought the show to the UK, they wanted to make it more about the money and the boxes like they do in America. And I said no, this is a people show. It should be about the people’. And it all made sense. We have some amazing moments with our contestants in the series. Noel said he had ten glorious years on Deal Or No Deal. He said it is a very special show and he is right, I can’t wait for people to see it again.”
