The new Warzone will be launching this week, featuring all of the new gameplay changes that feature in MW3. Here's exactly when players can drop in.

Call of Duty's battle royale title will be getting its long-awaited overhaul this week, with Warzone set to get all of the encouraging gameplay changes players have been able to experience in MW3 – including improved movement mechanics and the re-introduction of slide cancelling. Launching as part of the MW3 Season 1 update, players will also be able to jump into the new Warzone Urzikstan map which, thankfully, looks to be much closer to Verdansk in terms of map design than previous maps Al Mazrah and Caldera.

Here's the confirmed new MW3 Warzone release time for all platforms and all regions, and how to preload.

MW3 Warzone release time

The MW3 Warzone release time is 5pm GMT / 12pm EST / 9am PST on Wednesday, December 6, Activision confirmed via a blog post, with the new battle royale title launching as part of the MW3 Season 1 update. MW3 Warzone will launch simultaneously in all regions and on all platforms including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Major Warzone updates, such as the Season 6 update back in September, almost always happen at 5pm GMT / 12pm EST / 9am PST on a Wednesday, and the MW3 Season 1 update is no different.

MW3 Warzone preload

As always, those on PlayStation will likely be able to pre-load MW3 Warzone before the release time, but players on Xbox will likely have to wait until the MW3 Warzone release time to start downloading the update, once the update is done though, you'll be able to drop straight into Urzikstan.

For players on PC using Battle.net, you can preload the new MW3 Warzone right now ahead of the 5pm GMT / 12pm EST / 9am PST release time, but PC players using Steam will likely have to wait until just before the update goes live to start downloading.

Not only will Warzone players be able to enjoy all of the new gameplay mechanics that were introduced for MW3 and the launch of the new map, but players will also be able to jump straight into Resurgence with Ashika Island and Vondel available at launch. Fans of Rebirth Island shouldn't worry though; it's set to be re-introduced in 2024. There will also be a CODmas event in the coming weeks, but instead of Krampus, players will come across Zombie Santa in the upcoming Christmas-themed content drop.
