Chelsea's game plan quickly unravelled in midweek when Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic both went off injured inside the opening 25 minutes.

Potter already had a number of players sidelined, including N’Golo Kante, Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Edouard Mendy and Mason Mount, and will be sweating over the fitness of Sterling and Pulisic ahead of the FA Cup tie.

Pep Guardiola has previously been lauded for his team selection in the FA Cup, having always taken the competition seriously. He is likely to field a strong side against Chelsea, though it remains to be seen whether Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte can recover in time from their respective injuries.

World Cup hero Julian Alvarez is back following his exploits in Qatar and is pushing for contention after sitting on the bench for the midweek victory.
