Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou failed to contain his anger with Brennan Johnson after Manchester City's second goal in Sunday's pulsating 3-3 draw.

Phil Foden gave City a 2-1 lead against Tottenham in the 31st minute after some brilliant play by Pep Guardiola's side. Josko Gvardiol got the better of Johnson on the edge of the box to knock the ball to Erling Haaland, who immediately played it to Jeremy Doku.

The winger then found Julian Alvarez in the box, allowing the composed Argentine to square the ball to Foden for the easiest of finishes. Postecoglou was furious with Johnson for allowing Gvardiol to win possession in such a dangerous area of the pitch.

The Spurs boss was spotted vented his frustration in Johnson's direction after Foden found the net. Roy Keane believes Tottenham were "all over the place" at the back for Foden's goal and must improve if they are to challenge for silverware this season.

Spurs made a brilliant start to the season. They led the title race and Postecoglou, who arrived from Celtic during the summer, was named as the Premier League's Manager of the Month in August, September and October. Yet their fortunes have changed.

Tottenham lost to Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa heading into Sunday's match to drop seven points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. They did take the lead against City when Son Heung-min scored, only for him to hit an own goal just three minutes later.

Keane told Sky Sports at half-time: "Foden, I bet he can’t believe it! Spurs were all over the place. Alvarez, Foden, as simple as you like. Shocking from Spurs. Against really good teams, you get found out. Spurs do have one or two more goals though. Mad game."

Keane admitted City were also "vulnerable at the back" during the first half. Tottenham took advantage of that vulnerability when Dejan Kulusevski played Son through on goal on the counter. The South Korean then squeezed the ball past Ederson.

"I said it’s going to be fun and it’s just begun!" Gary Neville said on commentary. "What a counterattack. Son, the experienced man, just takes it away from him. He’s got his pace back, he’s got his goalscoring form back. Spurs fans are going absolutely wild."

Yet Tottenham's lead lasted just 137 seconds, as Son stuck out a leg while trying to defend Alvarez's free kick. Micah Richards said: "What a game it’s been. Little bit naive on the free-kick, first of all really high and Son just puts out his leg and it’s very fortunate."

Giovani Lo Celso equalised for Tottenham in the 69th minute with a brilliant low effort on the edge of the box, but it didn't take too long for City to re-establish their lead. Jack Grealish got on the end of Haaland's low cross into the area to make it 3-2.

Just when it seemed the contest was over, Kulusevski scored a 90th-minute header to secure a point for Tottenham. The result leaves City third in the Premier League - three points behind leaders Arsenal - while Spurs have jumped up to fifth in the table.
