Ashley Cain on visit to daughter's grave to tell her he's having another baby
Ashley Cain has emotionally revealed how he visited his daughter's grave to tell her he was going to have another baby.
The TV star and charity fundraiser, 33, is due to welcome a baby boy with a long-term friend – nearly two years on from the tragic death of his daughter Azaylia, who died aged eight months in April 2021 from a rare form of cancer. Azaylia was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia at eight weeks of age.
Ashley revealed the news and explained he is not in a relationship with the mother of his unborn son – but said the pair have been friends since the age of 18. He revealed his son is due to be born in a few weeks and explained that as soon as he found out the news, he went to speak to his late daughter at her graveside. "The first thing that I did was go down to Azaylia’s resting place to talk to her about it," he said.

Ashley said the visit allowed him to feel positive about the news (Instagram/mrashleycain)"I believe that was a huge part that has allowed me to feel positive about it. I feel like she was the main person that I needed to speak to and to get this thing off my chest," Ashley told The Sun.
He said that after visiting her grave, he had a feeling in his "heart and soul" that his late daughter was happy for him. She added: "She was happy that she had a little brother and it is now just someone else for her to watch over and protect in this world."

Ashley recalled he found out he was going to become a father again after receiving a message from a long-term friend who said she needed to speak to him. The star went to visit his pal who then broke the news to him.
Initially, Ashely admitted the thought of having another tot after Azaylia's tragic death was "really difficult". Ashley shares Azaylia with his ex-girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee.

However, they have jointly remained dedicated to The Azaylia Foundation – which they set up to support other families with children who require treatment for cancer.
After finding out the news, Ashley said it was important to sit down with Safiyya and tell her the news, which he said was "painful" for them both. Despite the conversation not being easy, Ashley said their chat was filled with "a lot of truth and respect".
However, the star expressed he can't help but feel guilt about holding his newborn son next month while he isn't able to hold his daughter. But he does plan to take his son to Azaylia's resting place, when he is old enough.
It comes after Ashley previously told the Mirror how Azaylia saved his life. He said: "The reason also why I still talk about her passing is because I am so grateful that even though now I have lost her, I was blessed to have those eight months with her, and in that time, she taught me so much. She changed my life and she continually saves my life. I feel like she gave me a chance at redemption and that she is the person who allowed me to be organically and authentically who I am."
