Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage will again be standing in a public election this weekend – after ITV bosses confirmed that the first I'm A Celebrity eviction of the series will happen on Sunday.

The voting lines will open on Saturday evening, with someone leaving camp 24 hours later. The start of the evictions has been delayed by 48 hours after the show suffered two celebs quitting earlier in the week on "medical grounds". Normally someone leaves on Friday's show in the second week of the series. However, food critic Grace Dent was first to leave after viewers spotted she looked pale and unwell in camp at the start of the week.

And just a couple of days later actor Jamie Lynn Spears followed her out of the camp, suffering serious homesickness after being away from her two daughters for several weeks. Despite being a divisive character when it comes to voting, Farage is not expected to be the first to leave via eviction.

According to the bookmakers, the first eviction is likely to be between Nella Rose, Frankie Dettori and Nick Pickard. YouTube star Nella, 26, is the even-money favourite after seemingly annoying a lot of viewers with her rows in camp clashing with Fred Sirieix early on and later Nigel Farage. She has also struggled in some recent Bushtucker Trials.

Jockey Frankie, 52, has done little wrong but equally has done little on screen since arriving as a late entry and is 2/1 to go. On Friday night's show he barely featured and sports fans might be more inclined to support Tony Bellew show is making people laugh and getting stuck in.

Nick Pickard is known for being a Hollyoaks star, but with that show being on Channel 4 the question is whether he can win enough votes, especially with another popular soap actor in camp in the form of Danielle Harold. The actress is a 7/2 shot to leave camp, whilst the remaining seven campmates are 14/1 or bigger.

Coral's Lewis Knowles said: "Frankie Dettori continues to shorten, and is now 2-1 in our first elimination market, but Nella Rose is still our even-money favourite to be the first celebrity voted out of the jungle’."

Viewers using the app or their phone to vote for the evictions are voting to save – so need to vote for their favourite campmate. The person with the lowest number of votes will leave.

Insiders on the show also confirmed the plan is to have three people in the final next Sunday night. This means there is likely to be an eviction every night of the week unless someone else quits or they have a double eviction night.

On Saturday MPs urged people not to vote for Farage and to remember the damage he had done during his political career.

Labour’s Nadia Whittome told the Mirror: "ITV should never have given him a platform to launder his reputation and I would urge anyone considering voting to keep him on to think twice. From the racist undertones of his Brexit campaigning, to the climate denialism he’s pushed, Farage is not some affable clown but a poisonous influence on our society."
