Strictly's Carlos Gu is actually millionaire who enjoys a lavish life off-screen

Professional dancer Carlos Gu became a household name after joining Strictly Come Dancing last year, but here's what he gets up to away from the cameras.

Even though he might still be new to world of Strictly, Carlos - who is partnered with Angela Scanlon - is no stranger to the world of dancing and holds the title for the Chinese National Dance Champion. He's also a multi-world semi-finalist, came third in the German Open Championship, and was the UK’s Amateur Latin Rising Star Runner Up in 2017.

When news hit that he was joining the show, Carlos was excited about his new journey, saying: "I’m thrilled to join Strictly and very excited to get started. It’s a new chapter of my life and a new challenge as well. I’m absolutely ready to take on this journey and to shine."

Last year Carlos was partnered up with CBBC presenter Molly Rainford, who found fame on Britain's Got Talent when she was just 11 years old. And he has formed close friendships with fellow Strictly stars Nancy Xu, Dianne Buswell, Johannes Radebe and Katya Jones. Carlos had previously thanked his followers for their support on the show last year and Katya replied: "We love you Carlos!!!!!!!! You are such a beautiful person and phenomenal dancer! I can’t wait for everyone to see it!"

He also shared an intimate moment with host Claudia Winkleman during his first performance. Carlos grabbed Claudia and left her flustered before she screamed "I'm pregnant".

While on the spin-off show It Takes Two, Rylan Clark said: "We need to talk about Claudia," before replaying the clip. Carlos replied: "Oh, I loved that moment. When I talked to her about my favourite dance and she said 'Rumba is just standing,' I was like, 'How dare you, let me bring you back to the Rumba moves.' Rylan replied: "Well we were jealous! Honestly it was such a lovely moment to watch and we are so thrilled you are here."

Meanwhile, each year the dancers are believed to earn a flat fee of between £25,000 and £50,000. But that's pocket change for Carlos, who is believed to be worth a staggering £2.7million.
