Jennifer Lawrence admits she got 'drunk' before most awkward sex scene ever
Jennifer Lawrence has confessed that she felt so guilty about her steamy scene with co-star Chris Pratt in the 2016 film Passengers, that she had to come up with a unique way to cope.
The Hunger Games star revealed that she had to "drink" to prepare for the "really bizarre" experience of her first ever simulated sex scene. She admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she got "really, really drunk" before filming the intimate scene, to the point where she couldn't remember what happened during it. Jennifer said: "That led to more anxiety when I got home because I was like, 'What have I done? I don't know'."
Adding to her guilt was the fact that Chris was married to Anna Faris at the time. Jennifer confessed: "It was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn't tell my stomach that. So I called my mom, and I was like, 'Will you just tell me it's OK?' It was just very vulnerable. And you don't know what's too much. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real, but then... That was the most vulnerable I've ever been."

Lawrence labelled intimate scenes as "the most unsexy things in the world". Pratt also admitted he resorted to alcohol to deal with the awkwardness. He told The Telegraph: "I don't know if it was like that [being drunk]. But look, actors aren't like pilots, operating equipment - and sometimes doing love scenes can be awkward."
Jessica Chastain suffers awkward fall at the SAG Awards as heel caught in dress"I've done a simulated sex scene before, so it was less weird for me, but for Jen it was the first time she'd ever done anything like that. So [director] Morton [Tyldum] said: 'Do you want to have a glass of wine?' Because just like in real life it takes the edge off a bit. And I imbibed as well. And, well, if that's what it takes to get comfortable, why not?"
In reality, however, Jen isn't shy about getting steamy if it helps her acting. While starring in the 2017 horror film Mother!, she got 'CliffsNotes' from director Darren Aronofsky because they were an item in real life.
While chatting to host Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, she confessed she didn't understand much of the film. She was asked: "On a scale of one to totally confused, how much did you understand your film Mother!?"
Jennifer responded: "I'm going to be honest. Well, I was sleeping with the director, so I had CliffsNotes. So... five? Or a four. But if anybody needs any tips on understanding their films, you know what to do!"
Andy then cheekily retorted: "F*** the director?" as Jen replied: "Yeah!" Jennifer, star of No Hard Feelings, dated Darren for a year before they split in November 2017. She later married art dealer Cooke Maroney in 2019 and they welcomed their son Cy together.
