Strictly star shares update as she returns home after birth of son sees her skip event

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor has shared an update with her fans after she returned home following the birth of her son.

The 40-year-old comedian, who has starred on 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock the Week, announced on November 30 she had welcomed her second child with CNN reporter husband Phil Black, with the couple already sharing a five-year-old daughter, Valentina. Ellie had been due to appear at the Royal Variety performance and had shared a photo of herself pregnant and dressed up for the show before revealing that she had to make a quick outfit change after being admitted to hospital after going into labour.

In her latest post on her Instagram Story, Ellie told her 264,000 followers alongside a selfie: "Home and have changed my nightie. Big love to everyone breastfeeding when it's this cold – night feeds fill like a Wim Hof experience the last nights."

Previously Ellie, who had shared photos of herself changing from her Royal Variety outfit to her hospital gown, had told fans about her initial reaction to becoming a mum once again. She wrote in a caption to the photos: "Gutted to miss out but also very very happy to be wearing giant mesh knickers and saying 'But his skin is just so SOFT!' ten times an hour."

She then added a health update, writing: "Mother and baby doing well because mummy has access to morphine and baby has access to boobies. Wishing the rest of the performers the best night for a fantastic cause! Wishing me 12 hours sleep and a massive Pina Colada (not with the morphine, don’t worry…)."

The star first announced her second pregnancy in September after sharing a snap of her baby bump while looking down at her daughter. She also posted a message saying: "Ratbag No.2 - inbound. Pregnancy has been a funny old topic for me over the last few years and I've sometimes found it tricky following prego people online. For anyone in a similar headspace, if the idea of the inevitable baby spam that will follow makes you feel a bit weird, then I lovingly encourage you to be kind to your brainbox and mute or unfollow me."

Ellie added: "I hope you'll be back but whatever your situation, I wish you love and clarity as you continue to navigate your own journey."
