Arsenal are set to host Wolves at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta's side look to continue their excellent start to the season.

The Gunners are currently top of the league, just one point ahead of defending champions Manchester City, and head into the game in excellent form. They have won their last five games across all competitions and put six past Lens in midweek to secure their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Wolves, meanwhile, will be desperate to get back to winning ways having failed to win any of their last four league games. With that in mind, here are the latest headlines from the Emirates...

White contract latest

Arsenal are confident that defender Ben White will be the latest player to commit his future to the club.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba have all recently signed new long-term deals and White, who has two years left on his current contract, has been locked in talks with the club over an extension. Those talks have progressed well and the Gunners are hopeful he will put pen to paper soon.

Arteta and sporting director Edu are keen to reward White for his impressive form, having starred at both centre-back and right-back. He joined the club from Brighton back in 2021, with Arsenal forking out £50m to sign him.

Arteta hails Havertz

Having endured a difficult start to life at the Emirates following his big-money move from Chelsea over the summer, Kai Havertz is starting to find his form.

The 24-year-old has scored in back-to-back games and Arteta believes that "everything is starting to come together" for Havertz. When asked how Arsenal have started to get the best out of him, Arteta replied: "First of all support him, like with any other player, and give him the tools and the time to show his qualities.

"I think that's what he's doing. Everything is starting to come together. A lot of the things he was doing right, he's continued to do and now obviously in front of goal, he's being very efficient."

Frank makes Toney prediction

Brentford boss Thomas Frank is confident Ivan Toney will not be on the move in January, despite Arsenal being heavily linked with a move for the forward.

Toney is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules, but will be able to return to action in January. And Frank does not expect the 27-year-old to leave Brentford in the upcoming transfer window.

"Everyone saw what he did last year," Frank told the Evening Standard. "It's not like he broke a leg or did his ACL, so he's fit and probably even more ambitious to get success. I'm convinced he will be absolutely on it. I don't want to lose him. I hope, and think, he'll be a Brentford player on February 1."
