If you're looking to cosy up with a good blockbuster or thrilling TV show over the next few weeks, you may have to get your skates on as a slate of content will be leaving Netflix from December 1st.

From monster-smashing mayhem to an anthropomorphic sausage (yes, really), through to a thoughtful war drama or a sci-fi juggernaut, there's plenty to watch between now and the end of the month - before it's too late. Big-name films preparing to make way for the streaming giant's sackful of fresh goodies include:

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) - Kevin Costner stars as the titular hero who decides to fight back as an outlaw when faced with the tyranny of the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman). Despite receiving mixed reviews at the time, the film went on to gross more than £309m worldwide - and, of course spawned that classic Bryan Adams track (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, which spent a record-breaking 16 weeks at the top of the charts. With a 6.9 rating on IMDB, this movie more than hits the spot.

Perhaps a surprise impending departure is Godzilla (2014), as it has only been available to stream for three months. With a 6.4 rating on IMDB, this skyscraper-levelling yarn is certainly big on thrills, if perhaps a little small on story. But as monster flicks go, this is one that's well worth watching before it stomps off into the sunset.

Also taking to the skies next month is Man of Steel (2013) starring Henry Cavill as Superman. The story tells the tale of everyone's favourite Kryptonian superhero putting his extraordinary powers to good use - namely battling an old enemy who followed him to Earth in search of a codex and wanton destruction. With a healthy 7.1 rating on IMDB this is a fun cape-r well worth your time.

To round things off, Bad Santa 2 will be disappearing back up the chimney next month. The laugh-out-loud flick stars Billy Bob Thornton as a disgruntled and acerbic Old Saint Nick who teams up with his pal to rob a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. But things go a little belly-up when Santa's mum tags along for the ride. With a ho-hum 5.6 on IMDB it still has plenty of belly laughs to make it worth stopping by for.
