Jeff Stelling is set to make his return to TV next week over six months after quitting Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday.

The 68-year-old will join up with the Amazon Prime team for their Premier League coverage over the festive period, starting with next Wednesday's top-flight matches. Stelling will host their 'Every Game Every Goal' show, with Amazon confirming the news on Friday.

During his first show, Stelling will host updates from Manchester United's game against Chelsea and Manchester City's trip to Aston Villa. Sheffield United will host Liverpool, while three other matches will also take place on an action-packed evening of Premier League football.

Dion Dublin, Tim Sherwood, Siobhan Chamberlain and Nedum Onouha will be among those in the studio with Stelling with the show similar to Sky's Soccer Saturday. Amazon also confirmed that Dan Walker will present matches, with Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer and Michael Owen returning to their punditry roles.

Stelling has two rounds of Premier League fixtures to get his teeth into this month, with the first set taking place from December 5-7, while the second will occur on Boxing Day and 27-28 December. Each top-flight club are set to play at least six fixtures in December.

Stelling had been with Sky 30 years but he confirmed his departure in April. "It is Groundhog Day, that time of the year when I announce that I am leaving Sky Sports and Gillette Soccer Saturday," he said at the time.

"This time it is true. After 30 fantastic years on Sky, you lot out there have supported me, as have Sky, but it’s time to give you a break from all the VAR rants and bad gags and over the top celebrations when Hartlepool score a goal and give someone else the chance to do this fantastic job.

Gary Hughes, who is Sky's director of football, added: "Jeff has been synonymous with Saturday afternoon football for decades, exciting and enthusing football fans everywhere... he will be sorely missed."

Simon Thomas has replaced Stelling for this season's Soccer Saturday and the former had nothing but praise for his predecessor. "Being asked to present this iconic show and follow in the footsteps of Jeff Stelling, an absolute giant of sports broadcasting, is a massive honour and one I simply cannot wait to get started on," Thomas said.
