Golden Bachelor's Theresa lifts lid on what Gerry said to her in Fantasy Suites
The finale of the first ever Golden Bachelor was filled with drama and anger as Gerry Turner picked the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
The lucky lady - Theresa Nist - looked shocked and delighted when the 72-year-old got down one knee, but it turns out it might not of been as much of a surprise as it seemed. Just moments after the live final ended, a new interview dropped giving details of what happened in the Fantasy Suite.
The couple spoke a lot about their time there on the show, but didn't go into details as to what actually happened. But Gerry has now revealed that he told Theresa he was going to propose to her during their private evening.
Speaking to People, he said: "Part of our conversation in the Fantasy Suites [was] the first time really that I seriously told her that I loved her. It was almost an announcement of excitement. I said it three times in a row, ‘Theresa, I love you. I love you, I love you.’
"And I go, ‘And I'm going to ask you to marry me. I don't know if you're going to say yes, but I'm going to ask you." He goes on to add that he knew from that moment he would definitely pick Theresa.

The finale was filled with emotional, but more happened behind the scenes (ABC via Getty Images)Gerry also changed the tradition of the show by telling the other woman hoping for his heart, Leslie, that she wasn't going to be picked before the final proposal meeting. She guessed during their final date that something wasn't right, asking him what was going on. He left her tearful before going back on to tell her he had decided to give the gorgeous engagement ring to Theresa.
The news didn't go down well, with Leslie branding him a "liar".
Gerry told her: "I have fallen in love with Theresa and that's the direction I'm going to take." She replied: "Everything you told me the other night was a complete and utter lie, Gerry. You made it sound like you chose me you said things to me that made me think that this was it. It's mind-boggling to be honest how you can talk to me, all night say you love me and not even a day, 12 hours later, you can change your mind."
Gerry tried to reassure her that he wasn't lying about what he felt at the time, but instead said "things have changed, things have evolved" as he didn't want her thinking he was a liar. She exploded: "No offence Gerry but I can think whatever the f**k I want."
