Prime Gaming is ending the year with a bang, with 2021's critically acclaimed shooter Deathloop arriving on the service next week.

The Prime Gaming December 2023 lineup is possibly the strongest I've ever seen – and that's just from the headline title alone. Bethesda's FPS title Deathloop first launched back in 2021 and picked up multiple awards at the end of that year, including Best Game Direction from both The Game Awards and the D.I.C.E Awards. The game's protagonist is Colt Vahn – a man who is stuck in a Groundhog Day-esque situation in which he is forced to relive the same day over and over again. It turns out the only way he can end the loop is by taking out the island's eight 'Visionaries', however, getting to all eight in a single day proves more difficult than anticipated.

You'll have to replay the day multiple times to figure out each of these Visionaries' routines and schedules, and eventually how to take down everyone most efficiently. To make matters worse, one of the Visionaries is the deadly sniper Julianna who will show up at random – and can be controlled by another player – which can throw a massive wrench into your intricately planned out mission.

Prime Gaming is also giving you some hits, for those who are more into the classics. The second title this month is Akka Arrh which comes from the legendary game designer Jeff Minter and is based on an unreleased Atari prototype from the 1980's. Plus there's Asteroids: Recharged which – as the name implies – is a souped-up version of the arcade classic Asteroids.
