Jermaine Jenas was left fuming as his reaction to PSG's late penalty was captured on camera.

The Parisians were able to grab a stoppage-time equaliser as Kylian Mbappe converted from the spot with the clock well past the 90-minute mark. The referee originally waved away the PSG appeals after the ball looked to strike Tino Livramento's arm.

The Newcastle defender had put in a classy display in defence and went to block a cross, which originally hit his chest and then rebounded onto his arm. The referee was later advised to go to the VAR monitor and subsequently pointed to the spot.

Jenas, stood pitchside as he was on punditry duty for TNT Sports, was quick to wave away the penalty appeals. He could be seen mouthing "no way" before he stood anxiously as a VAR check was announced. He then threw his arms his frustration as the penalty was given.

Speaking after the game he said: "It's one of the most disgraceful decisions I've seen in a long, long time. The reason being is because you look at the nature of the game, all the energy the players have put into it, and it comes down to a really shocking decision that a referee has made.

"It's a deflection of his body onto his arm, not in any walk of life is that a penalty. It just isn't. So you can clearly see it hits Livramento’s chest, onto his arm – what’s he supposed to do with his arm, wrap it around his back? Honestly, I’m fuming.

"I really am because there is that feeling of, you've been cheated, and I think as a player when you've been out there, and they put everything into that game, and they had to change the way they played in the second half. They had to just defend the box down and Nick Pope made some of the best saves he’s ever made.

"And it should be one of those historical wins that really leads them into this last game [with] AC Milan. They can still go through don't get me wrong, but they've been robbed, they’ve been absolutely robbed."

Newcastle had taken an early lead thanks to Alexander Isak and were on course for a famous victory in the Parc des Princes. A win would've put them in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages but they now need results to go their way in the final round of matches.

Alan Shearer was left raging after the controversial call. He said on social media: "Do me a fucking favour man. What a load of s***." He also tweeted: "A superb battling away performance from every single player. Shouldn’t be spoilt by a disgusting decision."

Eddie Howe was asked if he felt a sense of injustice, he said: "Yes, I do. It wasn't the right decision in my opinion. There are so many things to take into account at that moment, the speed first. It was a ricochet that when it is slowed down, looks completely different to the live event.

"The ball hits his chest first, comes up and hits his hand. But his hand is not in an unnatural position, they [his hands] are down by his side, but he is in a running motion. I feel it is a poor decision and it's hugely frustrating for us as you know how little time there is left in the game. There is nothing we can do about it now."
