Calle Halfvarsson was in agonising pain over his frozen penis

Swedish skiing star, Carl-Christian "Calle" Halfvarsson, has warned people to "stay away" from the sport after suffering from a frozen penis once again.

The 34-year-old skier said his latest ordeal "hurts so damn much" after participating in a 20km World Cup event in Ruka, Finland. Despite his success, including two World Championship silver medals, one bronze medal, and a gold medal from the 2008 Junior World Championships, he's urging folks not to follow his path after his recent painful experience.

During the event in, Halfvarsson noticed something was off. He told Expressen: "I have frozen the muzzle. For real. Damn, I had to lie in there for ten minutes to warm it up," pointing to a tent where skiers warm up before races.

"It hurts so damn much. It's terrible." he added. In a surprising twist, this wasn't his first encounter with such an incident. He recalled another ordeal, saying: "It's lucky that I'm going to have my second child, because this is going to be difficult in the future if I'm going to continue like this."

When asked to describe the pain, he said: "No [I can't describe it]. Those who know, they know," and advised others to avoid it as it's the worst thing one can experience.

This isn't unique to Halfvarsson. Finnish skier Remi Lindholm also suffered the same fate at the Ruka World Cup. He told Iltalehti: "It's bad, it's bad. It was and still is quite numb. The toes are the worst." Lindholm had also experienced the injury two years prior at the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games.

"You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished .. it was one of the worst competitions I've been in," he told Finnish media via The Guardian. "It was just about battling through."

In an attempt to thaw out his affected area, Lindholm used a heat pack. "When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable," he added.
