Lisa Armstrong's fresh start in LA after toxic split and fresh money fight
Lisa Armstrong is planning to move to the USA and start a new career in Hollywood to put her recent failed relationship and her past failed marriage behind her - according to reports.
The 47-year-old make-up artist was famously married to I’m A Celeb presenter Ant McPartlin, 48, from 2006 until 2018 - with their explosive split taking place after she loyally stood by him while his career was rocked by a drink and drug addiction scandal. Lisa landed a huge £31 million pay off in her divorce settlement - and then went on to date an electrician named James Green, 40.
But this romance came to an explosive end earlier this year - with Lisa threatening legal action against James, claiming he owed her £100,000. Now it is suggested Lisa wants to escape these past troubles and heartaches for a new life in sunny California.
The make-up expert - who is currently working behind-the-scenes on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing - is planning to fly to Los Angeles in January to spend time with her actor friend Craig Young. And it is suggested she will be looking for work while she is there and could end up fully transferring herself to the City of Angels.

A source told Closer magazine: “Lisa’s had a really rough time of it recently and she’s been in a dark place. While she’s got Strictly to distract her now, she hasn’t got a lot on her schedule in the months after Christmas and is starting to dread that quiet time when she finally stops and has time to process everything.

“She’s been planning a trip out to LA to see her pal Craig Young. She loves it every time she foes there and really needs that boost right now. And it could lead to something more permanent - she’s debated moving there before, and now with her recent split she’s seriously considering it.”
It is said Lisa’s reported plans to challenge her ex James over £100,000 is also contributing to her plan to escape to a new life in the sun. It is also suggested the dramatic split has reminded Lisa of the hell she went through when Ant dumped her and ruined their marriage while their divorce settlement took two years to be finalised.
The source said: “Going through the heartbreak of a split is painful enough, as Lisa well know, but to have the stress and drama of a legal battle on top, it’s pushed her to the brink and she feels as if she’s reliving her divorce from Ant all over again. While she’s trying her best to throw herself into work on Strictly, behind closed doors she’s at rock bottom and struggling to keep going.”
The source goes on to claim Lisa struggles at this time of year because Ant is splashed all over the news and on screens every night due to his role on the long-running reality show I’m A Celeb. The fact that he has moved on and married his former assistant Anne-Marie Corbett - her former friend - has also played on her mind.
However, the source concludes by saying Lisa is looking ahead to 2024 and keeping her options open - with the idea of moving to the USA high on her list of resolutions.
