Danny Cipriani's cryptic swipe at ex after she was 'devastated' by cosy snaps
Danny Cipriani has risked insulting his soon-to-be ex-wife by sharing a cryptic social media post that seemed took take aim at their failed relationship.
The 36-year-old rugby star was married to 42-year-old mental health campaigner Victoria Rose O'Callaghan in April 2021 – but the marriage came to an abrupt end earlier this month. Reports suggested Rose had struggled to deal with sordid revelations from Danny’s autobiography, which was released in September and saw him boast of a wild past sex life where he would regularly enjoy threesomes with women he would pick up in bars, clubs and cafes. The duo reportedly clashed following the release of the memoir – with blazing rows and harsh exchanges of words until they decided to call it quite on their romance.
At the end of last week, however, it has was revealed that Danny has been cast as one of the celebrity contestants for the 2023 Christmas Special episode of Strictly Come Dancing. And speculation has been rife that the sporting Lothario has grown close to professional dancer Jowita Przystal – as the pair have been papped looking very close together.
Attention has been drawn back to Danny’s failed marriage, however, as he has shared a cryptic post on social media. The former England fly-half took to Instagram Stories and shared a post with an eyebrow-raising message.

Immense power resides within you. Your declaration, command, intention, visions, and prayers begin the creation of your reality. All you have to do is decide.”

Some fans would be forgiven for jumping to the conclusion that this was a veiled reference to his decision to walk away from his two-year marriage to Victoria. Earlier in the month, Danny had shared a similarly cryptic message that referenced life choices.
That message read: “There’s one thing I’ve always known, even when it was buried among the rubble of my mind: it’s better to follow your heart and be true to yourself than play by other people’s rules. You might not be accepted by everyone, but the rewards, when they finally come, will be so much sweeter than any trophy.”

Danny has been paired with Jowita for the Strictly Christmas special (PA)Last week, Victoria hit out at Danny for allegedly announcing their marriage had come to an end to the public without her consent. She claimed via a social media post of her own: “Danny publicly announced our split without any prior notice or discussion with me. I was made aware of the situation at the same time as the public, and this has caused me a great deal of pain. I apologise if my reactions and responses have seemed reactive or emotionally charged.”
Meanwhile, Danny and Jowita seem to be getting on like a house on fire – and they were snapped chatting and smiling together while standing incredibly close to each other. The images did not sit well with Victoria, according to reports.
A source close to Victoria told The Sun after the images went viral: “It was like she was knifed in the heart... Victoria was gutted to see the pictures of Danny and Jowita. It’s only been nine days since Danny announced on Instagram they had split - which Victoria had no idea about. That was distressing enough for her. But to she her husband so close with to another woman is absolutely heartbreaking for her.”
Danny later shared a clip of himself rehearsing with the dance professional – and gushed over how much fun he was having in the rehearsal studio. He wrote: “I love dancing!! But learning steps is a whole other game!! Luckily @jowitaprzystal is a brilliant, patient, teacher, cheers coach!! Having a great time with everyone involved, I can completely see why everyone who goes on strictly loves it.“
