Strictly's Bobby Brazier makes heartbreaking admission after Jade Goody tribute

Strictly's Bobby Brazier has said he'd love to spend a day with his late mum, in an emotional admission.

The EastEnders star, 20, was just four-years-old when his Big Brother star mother Jade Goody died. She lost her battle with cervical cancer in March 2009, aged 27. Bobby and his younger brother Freddie were raised by their dad Jeff Brazier. The young actor has previously heartbreakingly admitted he doesn't miss his mum as he doesn't have many memories of her.

He decided to pay tribute to Jade during his Couple’s Choice routine on Strictly on Saturday night. Bobby and professional dance partner Dianne Buswell left viewers sobbing as they danced to This Woman’s Work by Maxwell– a track which left a huge impression on Bobby as a little boy.

Ahead of his performance, Bobby opened up on the impact of his mum's death. He shared: "It changed my life completely. I would love to spend a day with her just to see where I get my smile from. My earliest childhood memory, I remember thinking 'oh my gosh, she is a superhero'.

Dad Jeff also told viewers: "As a family we are very tight, we have had to be. Loss definitely makes you grow closer." Bobby added: "Dads do absolutely everything, but my dad has done both dad and mum. To be somebody that my dad is proud of is everything." While Jeff admitted: "I am the lucky one, I am the one who gets to bring the boys up. I am the one who gets to watch him in Strictly. It brings so much joy in my life and I am very proud. He is a walking tribute to his mum."

Bobby continued: "This dance isn't only for my family, this dance is a tribute to my mum." He revealed there "would be tears" following the dance and also admitted partner Dianne had struggled to look at Bobby during rehearsals, given how emotional it was for them. He appeared to reveal the story of the dance reflected his own journey, as he shared the lyrics of the chosen song "touched him at his core".

Calling her a "superhero", Bobby was determined to pull off the tribute for his mum, and he soon left viewers "sobbing" with his and Dianne's routine. His father Jeff Brazier and brother Freddie, watching in the audience, also fought back tears over the moving routine. Judges Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke began to choke up as they both gave their thoughts, but they were not alone.

Viewers watching at home said they were "sobbing" as the routine aired, and Bobby spoke about his late mother. Takin to X, one viewer said: "Jeez I'm sobbing buckets." Another said: "Think Jade might have shed a tear too. That was some dancing from the heart Bobby!" while a third added: "Ugh Bobby & Diane I'm sobbing & Jade would be so bloody proud."

Speaking about the song earlier this week on It Takes Two, Bobby said: "It is the perfect song, sung by the perfect man and it is the perfect tone. The lyrics are just profound and really touched me at my core - it is gorgeous. I am going to have to work very hard this week to do it justice."

Host Fleur East then asked Bobby what the theme for the dance will be. He replied: "I am a child, well there is me as a child and I come out as me now. I have got Dianne, who replicates a woman lets say my mother probably.

"We go on this journey throughout. I don't know the whole dance yet to tell you completely but it is emotional. I think there could be a few tears." Dianne confessed: "The first ten seconds, even when we were in the rehearsal room, I could not look Bobby in the eye because it made me well up. "
