Strictly Come Dancing viewers think they know which star is next to be eliminated on the BBC series.

The latest episode saw tears, steamy routines and the remaining pairings going all out to stay on the show. But with the ninth elimination upon us, it is soon to be game over for one of the celebrities and their professional dancing partner.

After weeks on the show, one unlucky star will leave and fans think they know who. After the latest episode, viewers shared who they thought would end up in the dreaded dance-off after a change to who topped the leaderboard, and who was at the bottom.

Viewers named Angela Scanlon as the person likely to leave with her pro Carlos Gu ahead of this year's final. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, viewers shared their thoughts after Angela was bottom of the scoreboard and at risk of going home.

Viewers shared their thoughts that she may end up in the dance-off with co-star Layton Williams and his pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin, if not Nigel Harman and Katya Jones. Fans believe if this happens, Angela will be sent home by the judges over them.

One viewer posted: "Ok I think the bottom 2 will be: Nigel & Katya, Angela & Carlos. And I think Angela will go home. I’ll be so gutted if that’s the case though, I’m loving her," as another said: "Ah mannnn angela is obviously leaving tonight." A third added: "Think Leighton and Angela could very well be in the bottom 2 this week obviously leighton's not gonna go," while a fourth wrote: "Fear Angela is a gonna."

It comes as the show aired its eighth elimination last Sunday amid the show's iconic Blackpool week. During the results show, Angela Rippon became the latest star to depart the show after she faced Bobby Brazier in the dreaded dance-off.

Angela, 79, and pro partner Kai Widdrington performed their American Smooth to Tea For Two by Ella Fitzgerald while Bobby, 20, and pro partner Dianne Buswell performed their Jive to Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham! However, despite both couples dancing beautifully, the judges unanimously decided to save Bobby and Dianne, meaning Angela and Kai would be leaving the competition.

Speaking after her fate was decided in the competition Angela thanked pro partner Kai and defended her past experience. She said: "I have to tell you that the last nine weeks have probably been the most terrifying, the most fantastic, the most glorious, the most joyful that I have spent for a very long time in my profession.

"I have had the time of my life, people keep making reference to the fact that I presented Come Dancing, but that was forty years ago, that was a different time! He [Kai] wasn’t even born then! But actually being this side of the competition, this side of the programme has been really an eye-opener for me in so many different ways.

"Everybody talks about the team and all the pros - everyone who has danced – there is a real team spirit in this programme unlike anything I’ve come across anywhere else in any of the many programmes I’ve done. It’s absolutely fabulous. They support us, they encourage us all the time – it’s absolutely wonderful. But the person who really has to get the most credit is this gentleman here [to Kai]."
