Alex Mac Allister gave a comical X-rated response when asked to compare the feeling of beating Brazil in the Maracana this week.

The Liverpool star played a key role as Argentina won 1-0 at the home of their great rivals on Wednesday. Nicolas Otamendi's 63rd-minute goal proved the winner, keeping the reigning World Cup winners on track to qualify for the 2026 tournament in America, Canada, and Mexico.

The clash itself was overshadowed by violent crowd scenes though, with play held up for around 30 minutes. The trouble had begun when rival supporters clashed in a stand behind one of the goals at the stadium in Rio during the national anthems.

FIFA have since opened an investigation and a number of players, most notably Lionel Messi, have condemned the scenes. Mac Allister though, was still able to crack a smile when cornered by a reporter post-match.

Asked to complete the sentence "Winning against Brazil at Maracana in a World Cup qualifiers is like..." the 24-year-old replied "porn!" Amid laughter, he promptly left the interviewer before any further questions could be asked.

Argentina top the CONMEBOL qualifying table with 15 points from their six games, and have the Selecao in grave danger of missing out on international football's biggest stage. Brazil lie sixth, with the midweek humiliation signifying their third straight defeat.

And Mac Allister will now want to enjoy more 'porn' like feelings on Saturday. Liverpool go to leaders Manchester City in the Premier League, trailing the champions by just a single point.

The former Brighton player was integral to his country winning the World Cup in Qatar last December, and upon his return was equally instrumental in helping Brighton secure European football. That earned him a £35million move to Anfield in the summer, a deal which could potentially rise to £55million.

He's yet to hit top form under Jurgen Klopp, failing to score for the Reds in 15 appearances. But he's been a regular fixture in the starting XI, and is likely to in the away line-up at the Etihad for the 12.30pm clash on Saturday.
