Which Dyson beauty tool should you buy this Black Friday?

Dyson’s coveted beauty tools are undoubtedly one of the most-wished-for things on any hair care lover’s Christmas list. But with such a high price tag - even during Black Friday - the trio of tools would set you back nearly £1,000 if you wanted to get the this weekend.

I’ve been using this holy trinity of electronic styling throughout 2023, and a question I get asked a lot is ‘if you could only have one, which would you choose?’. And for me, the answer is simple.

Because these devices are on the higher end of the price scale, shoppers want to get the most bang for their buck. This Black Friday has been a particularly exciting one with the rarely-reduced Airwrap seeing a price drop at long last, with , , and more all stocking it for £80 less at £399.99.

Meanwhile, those who aren’t fussed about the extra attachments could opt for the coming with fewer tools, while the and the Corrales are

But which one would I advise you to spend your money on this Black Friday - if you could only pick one? I’ll tell you.

Dyson Corrale

The is the product of the three that I’ve used the least, in part, because it’s the latest addition to my arsenal of beauty tools, but also because my hair is naturally quite straight anyway, and I only really straighten my hair if I’m going ‘out out’.

Launched in 2020, they’re the that help shape to gather the hair and deliver enhanced styling with half the damage compared to leading competitors.

Unlike traditional straighteners, the unique flexing plates of the mould to the hair section being styled. This gives you more control and creates better styling results. As the plates adapt to the hair, they apply tension evenly and stop any strands separating, reducing frizz and flyaways.

The is also suitable for all hair types and features Dyson’s Intelligent Heat Control for precise temperature control. What’s more is that they have a safety feature that switches them off after 10 minutes of inactivity for added peace of mind.

I found the to be a gorgeous design, easy to set up, quick to heat and a joy to use. It beeps to let you know it’s reached temperature, with three adjustable heat settings, and will also alert you if the battery is low. The cordless design is something of a game changer, particularly for travelling, however isn’t all that necessary for use in the house because I always stand in the mirror that has a plug socket next to it.

But I did find that there’s a slight ‘drag’ on the hair as you pull the straighteners through it, which I don’t get with my . The results from both pairs are exactly what I look for with a pair of straighteners, so for me, I personally wouldn’t fork out when a can do a very similar job.

Dyson Airwrap

The launched in 2018, transforming the world of hair tools and very quickly becoming a viral sensation. It uses the Coanda effect rather than excessive heat, playing with air pressure to style hair in a much healthier way, providing incredible results, which is why we named it our Mirror Choice top hair styler.

I previously reviewed the Dyson Airwrap and rated it better than the cheaper Shark FlexStyle alternative, praising it for its ease of use, speed and results. Again, Dyson knows how to make a good-looking tool, as it really looks the part. It’s lightweight, and has a seamless and well thought out design that makes switching from hot to cool a breeze.

It comes with an for smoothing, and blowdrying, but of course the most popular is the curling barrels for creating at home bouncy blowouts as though you’ve just left the salon.

I never used to curl my hair because it’s so long, it would take forever and by the time I’d finished one side the other would drop. The Airwrap takes considerably less time than a wand or curling iron, creating salon-worthy curls in minutes rather than hours.

What’s more is that there’s no need to faff around swapping barrels for different curl directions, like you do with the Shark. There’s a little toggle on the top of the barrel that will change the direction of the airflow, so you only need to use one.

While I do love the , I do find that my curls don’t hold as well as I’d like, though this is more down to the fact I need to do some more research on the best products to use alongside it, rather than the device itself. But it does mean that I don’t find myself reaching for it as often as I would like, that said, it is still my

Dyson Supersonic

The beauty chore I hated the most - after shaving my legs - is drying my hair, but since getting the all of that changed. This hairdryer really is a gamechanger, and went from giving myself a bad back blast drying my hair with a battered old hairdryer, to it taking what felt like seconds to go from wet to dry.

I use three Dyson hair tools and this is my Black Friday advice to shoppersThe Dyson Supersonic is £299.99 for Black Friday, down from £329.99

The comes with magnetic styling attachments for easy fitting and rotation during styling, including a Flyaway attachment for smoothing, the Dyson Styling concentrator, diffuser, gentle air attachment and wide tooth comb.

What sets the device apart from is that it has a small, powerful Dyson V9 digital motor, which is on average six times faster than other hair dryer motors. Combined with Air Multiplier technology, it produces a high-pressure, high-velocity jet of controlled air, for fast drying and precision styling.

Unlike some others, the measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat, in order to prevent extreme heat damage, to protect your hair’s shine.

Most people wash their hair at least a couple of times a week, while others do so every day - I’m an every-other-day kind of hair washer, and with a busy lifestyle, the last thing I ever want to be doing is spending an hour making sure my ends are dry. So, not to be dramatic but the

I use three Dyson hair tools and this is my Black Friday advice to shoppersThe Dyson Supersonic has dramatically reduced my hair drying time and turned my much loathed chore into my favourite

It’s lightweight so it doesn't give you wrist ache, powerful - so it doesn't take long to dry my locks - and again, is a gorgeous design with some very nifty features such as the adjustable temperature and speeds. Because it's the tool I use the most regularly, I don't find myself putting it in the box and forgetting it exists for weeks on end, meaning I actually get value for my money. And at under £300, if you used it every day for a year, it would have cost you less than £1 a day to use it - and it will last WAY longer.

It’s now though if that’s still a little steep Dyson has launchedthe for £279.99. The compared to the original Supersonic, coming with just one attachment - the styling concentrator - instead of five like the £299.99 counterpart. Alongside the budget-version of the dryer, shoppers will receive a worth approximately £125. Though personally, if you’re going to spend £279.99 on the dryer, I’d just spend the extra £20 to get the diffuser and other attachments.
