Horror dog attack on two-year-old caught on doorbell cam as pit bull mauls tot
Horrifying footage shows the terrible moment a Texas toddler was attacked by a pit bull - before it tried to burst through the front door and get to the rest of the family.
Doorbell camera footage from the front door shows the moment the pitbull - of which many types are banned in the UK - charged the young boy and pushed him over. The incident occurred as Chante Wright-Haywood was leaving her home in Austin to drop off her son CJ at daycare - as she headed into work.
Chante’s young son starts screaming and crying, as the dog jumps on top of him. Chante picks her son up and runs to the front door as the dog continues to chase them and tries to get at the son - coming right up to the front door as it does so.

The pitbull chased Chante and her son back into the house (KXAN)The protective mother-of-six screams and fights back at the dog, kicking out as it tries to reach her hysterically crying son. The crazed Mutt growls as it ravages at the front door of the house, before settling down once Chante and her son are safely inside.

Chante posted the video on Facebook with the comment: “This dog literally attacked my baby!!! I was able to get him off out in the yard, but he literally would not let up, my baby suffered bite injuries!!! I am SO UPSET! This literally could of ended in tragedy. It even broke down the hinges to my door.”
CJ suffered a minor bite to his stomach. “You can hear like that snapping, trying to get to him [my son]. My daughter was able to open the door, and I just kind of pushed him in…the dog was trying to get into the house,” Chante told WKRG according to the New York Post.
Chante claims the dog “broke the hinges off the door frame” as the scuffle at the front door occurred. “Me and the kids were putting all our body weight on the door to hold the door close to keep the dog out while I’m calling police and EMS to come,” she recalled.
The dog chased them right up to the door and is seen trying to bite the toddler (KXAN)Eventually Animal Control arrived to capture the dog and allow the family out of their house. Chante says this is a recurring problem in the neighbourhood as unleashed dogs are permitted to prowl the streets.
Sympathy poured into the Facebook comments for Chante, with one saying: “That is terrifying sis I’m so sorry y’all dealt with that. You acted quickly and protected your baby. Praying for lil man to heal quickly!” Chassady Danielle said this is why she “hates dogs now”, while Valerie Sanchez Raven added that it is “horrible” and she “cried watching this”.

The pitbull left devastation in its wake (KXAN)There was also much criticism aimed at the owner of the dog. “Owwwwe this pisses me off soooo bad!” said Ashley Ashley. “I really hope the owner and the f***ing dog have to deal with the consequences of this!!! Prayers for CJ and you. I’m so sorry this happened.”
