S Club star splits from husband and daughter is 'only thing that matters'
S Club 7 Juniors star Stacey McClean and her husband Fraser Franks have called time on their marriage after 10 years.
The pop star, 34, and her former football star husband Fraser, have said that despite their split they will maintain a healthy relationship for the sake of their four year old daughter Nellie. Sharing the news with her fans, Stacey took to social media earlier this week to announce the split, alongside a picture of the couple's daughter. She wrote: "Hello. I think enough time has passed to be able to talk openly about what has been happening in my life lately."
She added: "I'm not a big fan of sharing personal stuff on here, however - many of you have noticed a few changes. Fraser and I, after 10 wonderful years together have made the difficult decision to amicably separate. As many of you know, when children are involved, decisions such as these are not taken lightly. We walk away with nothing but love for each other and the only thing that matters to us is Nellie, for without each-other we wouldn't have been blessed with her."
The pair married in 2017 two years after Fraser proposed on the rooftop of a lavish hotel in Phuket, Thailand. And while most brides dream of their special day going without a hitch, the same can't be said for Stacey's nuptials. According to reports, Stacey was drunk and threw wedding cake at Fraser's face causing a huge bust-up as his mum had made the cake.
At the time, a source told the Mailonline: "All was going to plan until the speeches, when Stacey decided to stand up and give her own speech. The speech was longer than the three previous put together and you could see the other guests cringing as she repeated the same thanks over and over again, and regaled her life story." And at one point in the evening she demanded that all guests step up to the dancefloor, which reportedly did not go down too well.
S Club 7 enjoy mini reunion at the Brit Awards ahead of band's big announcementThey added: "After she threw the cake in her husband's face, they were spotted in the garden arguing with representatives of both families acting as peacekeepers. The night ended for Stacey when she got a taxi to a hotel, by herself at 20:30. Fraser continued to enjoy the evening until the early hours."
Prior to her relationship with Fraser, Stacey dated Lawson guitarist Ryan Fletcher but they split in 2013. Stacey first shot to fame in 2002 being part of S Club 7 Juniors, which was a spin-off pop group of S Club 7. The group consisted of stars including This Morning host Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge.
The group stayed in the spotlight for three years and Stacey then attempted a career in modelling, music and presenting. Undeterred, Stacey auditioned for X Factor in 2009 and made it as far as Judges Houses in Dubai but was turned down by Dannii Minogue, meaning her future on the show had ended.
