The Nitro Deck from CRKD was only released earlier this year, but is already offering Switch players the chance to enjoy excellent handheld ergonomics for less.

The day of the week may not have quite arrived yet but already the Black Friday 2023 deals are coming thick and fast. This includes Nintendo Switch players, who are already being offered the chance to save big on digital games, thanks to the raft of Black Friday offers on the Nintendo eShop. One of the year’s best Nintendo Switch accessories, by our own estimations, transforms the hybrid console into a handheld player’s dream. It’s called the Nitro Deck, and it’s currently available for a nice chunk off.

In our Nitro Deck review, we called it “the comfiest Nintendo Switch grip out there” due to just how much it makes Nintendo’s console look and feel like a Steam Deck. It typically retails for £59.99 for the standard Black or White edition without a case included, but for Black Friday 2023 Game has it discounted to just £49.98. If you do want a Nitro Deck Limited Edition with a carry case, though, the price drops from £89.99 to £69.98 – an even better £20 off RRP.

More than just a simple enhancement aimed at improving your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Cons, the Nitro Deck does away with them entirely to have you slot the console’s screen into its slot. Once inserted, you’ll be able to instantly start enjoying zero stick drift thanks to the inclusion of hall effect thumb sticks, which combine with an ergonomic feel and several turbo button settings to help make the Nintendo Switch experience totally unique to you.

The Nitro Deck is available in a range of attractive colours with one in particular, named Retro Purple, harkening back to the days of the Nintendo Gamecube with its colour tone and face buttons. You get the sense that CRKD is a true fan of the hardware as well as Nintendo’s legacy, hence why they wanted to offer owners of the Nintendo Switch a more premium way to play in handheld mode. What’s more, the Nitro Deck can serve as an extra controller when not holding your screen.

It's been seven years since the Nintendo Switch first released, and with the likes of the Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, and Lenovo Legion Go trying to eat the console’s lunch in the handheld space, the Nitro Deck aims to be an appropriate upgrade. That’s why people with big hands or anyone who feels put off using the Joy-Cons in handheld mode might want to make the most of this Nitro Deck Black Friday 2023 deal.
