One in five have put their Christmas tree up already to cheer their house up
One in five people have already put up their Christmas tree - with 40% of these saying they did it to cheer up the house.
A third of those who have decked the halls despite it being November said seeing their first festive advert had inspired them.
The John Lewis commercial featuring adorable Venus flytrap Snapper was the favourite commercial among Christmas-crazy Britons, with Aldi ’s featuring Kevin the Carrot in second place.

Out of those who didn’t yet have their tree up, Saturday December 2 is the most popular date to decorate for Christmas, with 30% said they were planning to do this.

Almost all respondents who are parents - 94% of those polled - stated that they get their children involved when it comes to decorating the Christmas tree.
However, almost half admitted that they will re-organise the tree decorations once the kids were in bed.
Adam Mason, of The Christmas Creators, said: “Retailers start the festive celebrations as soon as Halloween is over and Christmas adverts are getting earlier and earlier every year, so it’s no surprise to hear that a lot of UK households are no longer waiting for December to come around before getting their tree up and their decorations out.
“We’ve been living through a few tough years and the cost of living crisis is not making life easy for most.‘ We all need to find a way to bring a little more joy into our lives, and if decorating your home and getting into the Christmas spirit early is the way to do that, then who is to say you shouldn’t?”.
