GMB's Richard Madeley celebrates huge Judy Finnigan milestone
Richard Madeley kicked off Tuesday's ITV Good Morning Britain with a huge celebration.
During the latest episode, Richard, 67, revealed he was celebrating a huge milestone with his wife Judy Finnigan as the couple marked their 37th wedding anniversary. The iconic couple married in 1986 and Richard revealed they had actually been together for a total of 40 years, including their relationship before marriage.
Starting Tuesday's show, co-host Susanna Reid said "congratulations" before explaining the show had recently spoken to two guests, who had met on former dating show Blind Date, and were celebrating 32 years of marriage. Susanna said: "I thought at the time, 'I bet you can top that' and today you do!"
To which Richard said: "Today, yeah, I can't believe it actually... because it seems about 15 years but yeah it's my 37th wedding anniversary!", with Susanna replying: "Wow, congratulations Richard and Judy!" Richard continued: "Actually, because we were together a few years before that, it's actually sort of 40 years of being under the same roof, which is just ridiculous!", to which Susanna joked: "Long service medals all round... or just for Judy!", with Richard quipping: "I think just for Judy, yeah!" Teasing their celebration plans, Richard said: "Going to a posh dinner, thank you very much!"
And while Richard and Judy are celebrating a huge marriage milestone their daughter, Chloe Madeley, recently sadly announced her split from husband James Haskell. Chloe, 36, announced her split from her former rugby professional player husband James, 38, at the end of October. The pair confirmed they had parted ways in September, after sparking concerns for their marriage as they both appeared without their rings.
Richard 'shuts up' GMB guest who says Hancock 'deserved' being called 'd***head'In a statement, she wrote: "James and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023. We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand. Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time. Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love."
James later went on to share the same statement on his Instagram page, captioning a screenshot of the statement: "It's with a lot of sadness I write this post, but unfortunately, in the world we live in, it has to be done. My priority is my daughter’s and Chloe’s happiness and security. For that reason, I won't be commenting any further." The pair married in 2018 and welcomed daughter Bodhi into the word in August 2022.
