The 2023 Davis Cup Finals get underway in Spain on Tuesday (November, 21), with Great Britain among eight teams hoping to win the trophy.

Great Britain went undefeated in the group stage and are now set to face Serbia, who will be bolstered by the presence of World No.1 Novak Djokovic, in the quarter-finals on Thursday. Defending champions Canada will kick things off when they take on Finland, while last year's runners-up Australia face the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Italy and the Netherlands will also lock horns on Thursday ahead of the semi-finals on Friday and Saturday. The showpiece final will then take place on Sunday.

Unfortunately, fans will not get the chance to see Djokovic and Andy Murray lock horns after the Brit was forced to pull out through injury. Murray has suffered a season-ending shoulder injury and said he was "gutted" to miss the Davis Cup.

"I've picked up a minor shoulder injury which means I won't be able to take part in the Davis Cup," he said. "I'm gutted not to be part of the squad but my focus is now on rehab and getting ready for the new season."

Liam Broady has replaced Murray in Great Britain's squad, who were also forced to draft in Joe Salisbury after Dan Evans withdrew with a calf injury. Djokovic, meanwhile, is hoping to cap off an excellent season with another trophy, having won three Grand Slams this year.

"It is an important week for us, for our nation," he said. "We'll do our best. I really would like to win the Davis Cup with Serbia. That's a goal."

Canada star Felix Auger-Aliassime, meanwhile, hopes they can replicate the success of the women's team who won the Billie Jean King Cup earlier this month. He said: "It's a beautiful thing to think that we have both [the] men and women number one teams. For me, growing up that seemed very far [away]. It speaks to how much we’ve grown as a country in this sport."

When are the Davis Cup Finals?

The finals will start at 3pm on Tuesday 21st November, with the tournament set to conclude on Sunday 26th November with the final due to get underway at 3pm.

How can I watch the matches?

Every single match will be aired live on the Tennis Channel, which costs £2.49 a month, while Great Britain's games will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the BBC Sport app.
