Police have released an e-fit of a suspect wanted over the robbery of a woman who has a striking resemblance to an England football star.

The man is wanted following an attack on the lone female in an alleyway in Twickenham, south west London at around 8.15pm on October 26. But as soon as police released an e-fit of the alleged criminal, people immediately saw the comparison to England captain Harry Kane.

The person being hunted shares the former Tottenham forward’s blonde hair, blue eyes and long features. But despite plenty of playful comments on social media, there is no suggestion that he is the robber. And Kane is currently looking for a house in Germany after making a bright start to his career in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

The e-fit shows a man, who appears to be in his 20s or 30s, with medium blonde hair and a blonde goatee beard wearing an orange/red beanie hat, grey hoodie, and beige gilet.

X users left lots of comments joking about the resemblance. One said: "It does look like Harry Kane - although he has a great alibi." Another wrote: "Harry Kane been eliminated from your enquiries? ps. I hope the lone female in question is OK. I shall keep a lookout." A further person said: "I thought he'd moved to Germany."

Richmond Police said: "On 26th October 2023 between 2000 - 2030hrs, a lone female was robbed in an alley off Twickenham Riverside. We are asking for anyone who could identify the person from this EFIT image. Please call us on 101 (ref 0711737/23) with any assistance."

Kane has been quick to adapt to life on the pitch in Germany with an amazing 21 goals already in 16 games following a £104million move from Spurs. It puts him top of the scoring chart in the league and includes three hat-tricks. If his rich vein of form continues then he could beat Robert Lewandowski’s record in Germany of 48 goals during the 2020-21 - that eclipsed the great Gerd “The Bomber” Muller.
