Four Liverpool players are out of contract at the end of the season and could find themselves moving on to pastures new.

The likes of Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Naby Keita all left on free transfers last summer and manager Jurgen Klopp now has a decision to make about the futures of four other players with the January transfer window on the horizon.

Players out of contract at the end of the season can begin negotiating moves abroad in January, meaning Liverpool need to start thinking about the future. Here, Mirror Football takes a look at the four players whose contracts expire next summer...

Thiago

The Spaniard was the only one of Liverpool's experienced midfielders to remain at Anfield over the summer, with Jordan Henderson, Milner, Fabinho, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain all moving on.

However, Thiago is yet to play a game this season due to a hip problem and it appears as though he is likely to leave the club when his contract expires next year. Reports have linked Thiago with the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Barcelona and with new signings Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch all impressing in his absence a fresh start may be needed.

A quality performer when fit, it is a real shame injuries mean fans have not seen Thiago at his best on a more consistent basis since he decided to make the move from Bayern Munich to Liverpool in 2020.

Joel Matip

The centre-back has been an excellent servant for Liverpool since joining the club on a free transfer from Schalke back in 2016, helping them win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

However, Matip is also reportedly expected to leave Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the season. After revamping their midfield this summer, it seems Klopp will look to do the same in defence next summer.

With Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate Klopp's first-choice pairing when available and academy graduate Jarell Quansah enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign, it would not be a surprise to see Matip make a move elsewhere.

Adrian

It may have come as a surprise to some when Liverpool agreed a one-year contract extension with Adrian after he made just one competitive appearance last season in the Community Shield.

However, the 36-year-old boasts a wealth of Premier League experience and is a fine option as third-choice behind Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher. Despite being yet to play a game this season, it would not be a surprise to see Adrian sign another extension next summer as well.

There has been speculation Kelleher could be on the move in search of more regular first-team football, meaning Adrian could have more opportunities to play next season as well.

Conor Bradley

After impressing on loan at League One side Bolton Wanderers last season, winning their player of the year award as they reached the play-offs, Bradley looked set to have a first-team role at Anfield this year.

However, a stress fracture of the back suffered in pre-season means the 20-year-old is yet to play a competitive fixture. Reports claimed over the summer that he had agreed terms on a new three-year deal, but no official announcement has yet been made.

But with Klopp said to be a big fan of the right-back and Trent Alexander-Arnold now enjoying a "hybrid" role that sees him regularly moving into midfield, it seems likely Liverpool will extend Bradley's contract.
