Nigel Farage’s ex-mistress wants I’m A Celebrity fans to put him through hell by voting for him to do every trial.

Former political aide Trixy Sanderson would love to see him buried in a coffin of nasties and pull a lever to release cockroaches. Tonight he was up to his knees in muck on a jungle trial. Trixy hopes he will be up to his neck in tackling many horrible challenges.

But she said he may be fine with some eating trials as he actually orders offal in restaurants. This was one of many warnings Trixy, formerly Annabelle Fuller, had about Farage. In 2005, the ex-UKIP speechwriter and Farage, then married to his second wife Kirsten, started an 11-year affair.

She claimed he told her to keep it secret to save Brexit. They vehemently denied the affair, in spite of UKIP defector Nikki Sinclaire outing them in the European Parliament. Annabelle spoke out about it in 2016, after it ended.

She said he had been “grossly inappropriate” with her and she had to change her name, to Trixy, and could not get work due to the explosive fallout from the affair. She said: “I’d love to see him lose his job and become unemployable, as I did.

“If I can’t do that, I’ll definitely be voting for him to do horrible things. My whole family and all my friends will be voting. I think it’ll be cathartic to see him take on something gross with dirt, bugs and snakes, ideally in an enclosed space underground. He would really hate that.”

Trixy believes the eating trials will not bother him. She said: “He voluntarily eats offal. I bet this isn’t even the first time he’s had a gourmet testicle.” Trixy said Farage, 59, likes to kill and prepare his food.

“He once told me he wished he could kill everything he eats. He caught, killed and gutted some cod for me and my family. So it’s actually the rats and snakes who should be more afraid of him.”

She cautioned his campmates: “He will probably get on well with everyone because he can be very charming and he has a great line in jokes, and so many anecdotes. But, like many politicians, he is cut-throat. He’d stamp on his own grandmother to get what he wants. And what he wants – aside from the readies in the bank – is to win people over on the outside.”

She had a particular warning for This Morning’s Josie Gibson, 38. Trixy expects Farage to befriend her as “she’s quite a down-to-earth, attractive, blonde and curvy. Exactly his type.” Trixy, Farage’s right-hand woman as he planned his Brexit campaign, is not surprised he is planning a political comeback.

She said: “Nigel taking part in I’m A Celebrity is just cringe. When I was first working with him, he was getting calls from them, and I recall saying to him, ‘It’d be so tacky, you’d have no self-respect left.’ He agreed with me.

“But he loves being the centre of attention and he will want to win over a new demographic. Those things would have mattered if the fee hadn’t been right.”

We revealed last week his Reform Party is £1million in debt. He is said to be the highest-paid jungle signing ever – pocketing £1.5m. He is also poised for a legal fight with banking giant NatWest, which he is suing for millions in damages after former chief Dame Alison Rose admitted discussing his finances with a BBC journalist.

Farage is said to have tried to wean himself off caffeine and alcohol to prepare for the show. Trixy reckons he will miss booze but campmates have been spared a real nightmare, after bosses agreed to let him smoke. She said a lack of food would not bother him as he often skips meals and calls sugar “white death”.

She said: “Not being in charge will irritate him, he’s used to being the boss. If someone else is in charge, he’ll constantly push against it. I can see that getting on people’s nerves. And if he gets riled the man can really throw a tantrum.”
