A teen mother, who dropped out of school when she fell pregnant at 14, has revealed the secret behind her hugely successful realtor career which sees her selling multimillion-pound mansions.

22-year-old Alex Yetter has come a long way from being a high-school dropout living in her parents’ basement. Although life was tough, she says she wouldn’t change a thing about her past as it got her to where she is now. Today, she owns her dream home, drives flash cars and is even able to afford to send her son to private school.

"Looking back now I wouldn't change anything, because it's led me to where I am today - I'm living out my dreams,” she said. "I'm really grateful for just getting in and getting after what I want to do and not giving up.”

Alex’s world flipped upside down when she was in 9th grade after she took a positive pregnancy test. Embarrassed, the young woman tried to keep her pregnancy a secret, however, when she began showing at 20 weeks, rumours started flying around the school.

Before getting pregnant she had been one of the popular girls with a large group of friends and a star spot on the cheerleading team. Despite that, when the other kids started finding out about her little secret, Alex, from Oregon, USA, became the target of bullying.

"There were some really nasty, mean things that were said to me,” she described, before recalling how the experience forced her to mature quicker than the average teenage girl: "I just had to learn to not care what other people said or what other people thought about me, which was really hard as a 14-year-old girl.”

The bullying eventually grew so intense it forced her to drop out of high school to wait to give birth to her baby boy, Milo, just after her 15th birthday.

Determined to not become another teen mum statistic, Alex put her son, who is now eight years old, into childcare and enrolled back into an online high school course whilst also working in a tanning shop to help pay the bills and provide for her child. Juggling her education, a job as well as caring for her little boy left her with little time for normal teenage life.

"I felt like I missed out,” she said. “I wasn't dating, I wasn't able to go to all the parties like my friends, I couldn't relate to them.”

"For me, it was a lot harder, I had to take a different route than a lot of other people had to take,” she added.

But it all paid off, and at 18 the driven mother was able to graduate high school with her son by her side, which she says is her “biggest accomplishment,” before moving out of her parents' basement into their first home.

Alex believes that having to become a responsible adult at such a young age motivated her to go after her chosen, industry the world of real estate, which she had always dreamed of working in.

Once she received her licence, she began attending open houses and networking events to get a foothold in the business. Her business grew quickly and she is now mixing with millionaires, selling luxury properties worth over £1.6 million.

Her success has landed her and Milo in their dream home.

Alex has even enrolled her son into a private school, where she is the youngest parent to pay for tuition.

"Early on in my real estate career I was determined to be able to afford the best education for Milo,” she explained.

"We're just happy and content where we're at,” she said. “We've come a long way from being in my parents' basement.”
