I'm A Celebrity first look as fans can expect 'first show like no other'

Things won't be easy for the 10 famous faces heading to the jungle for this year's hotly anticipated series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

This year's celebrities are Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn Spears, TV personality Sam Thompson, This Morning's Josie Gibson, First Dates star Fred Sirieix, YouTuber Nella Rose, GB News host and ex-politician Nigel Farage, food critic Grace Dent, JLS star Marvin Humes, EastEnders' Danielle Harold and Hollyoaks icon Nick Pickard.

I'm A Celebrity kicks off on Sunday, November 19 and producers are promising a never seen before first. Three of the celebrities are heading into the "sizzling outback" for a brand-new set of challenges in the "scorching heat".

Josie, Nella and Nigel will meet for the very first time. According to bosses, the trio "soon learn that they are desperately needed by their fellow celebrities" who are 2,000 miles away back on the Gold Coast. Their mission is to win time for their fellow campmates who are taking part in other challenges.

The more time they have, the better for all of the campmates. They're faced with searching through gallons of sticky gunk and scary hell holes in a bid to score tokens for time. Meanwhile, on the Gold Coast, Sam, Danielle, Fred and Grace arrive by helicopter, meeting on the very top of an imposing skyscraper, quickly spotting the challenge that awaits them.

Hosts Ant and Dec greet them to explain that two at a time they will have to descend a ladder down the side of the eye-wateringly high building. They'll have to delicately inch their way sideways along the towering building, before carefully sliding down to a huge horizontal flag pole. There's no choice but to look down at the terrifying drop beneath them, as they must lie down onto the pole and crawl along.

They have to race against the clock to unclip carabiners along the pole to release their star-print flag. Exactly how long they have to complete the challenge is all down to their fellow celebrities in the outback. For the remaining campmates Jamie Lynn, Nick and Marvin, the iconic skydive awaits them.

Arriving together in a clearing, it soon becomes clear they’ve got a dramatic entry into camp life, as they will have to each take turns to jump out of a plane. And it's very bad news for Marvin, who has already professed his fear of heights. Plus, after dropping into the jungle there’s no rest time for these campmates as they find out they’re heading straight into action with a trial, too.

It comes after Nigel has admitted I'm A Celebrity is likely to be a massive flop as fans won't be seeing a whole lot of him in the jungle. The 59-year-old former UKIP leader will be ruled out of many of this year's Bushtucker Trials due to a long list of health issues.

Sharing just how much his ailments will impact his time in camp, Nigel - who is understood to be the highest-paid star of 2023 - predicted his appearance is going to be a "complete, total car crash. A disaster". Nigel will be hoping his fellow campmates will be the ones bringing home the stars as he reveals his many chronic injuries will automatically rule him out of a number of challenges on medical grounds.

  • I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! starts Sunday, November 19 at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
