Strictly frontrunner Layton Williams has been wowing audiences with his dance moves on the BBC talent show and offscreen he is equally skilled at DIY. The performer recently bought his first home in trendy Dulwich, South London, and he's been busy renovating ever since, sharing his hard work on a dedicated social media account.

The 29-year-old star from Bury, Greater Manchester, moved to London to pursue acting when he was just 11. He acknowledged his good fortune - not to mention hard work - when he got the flat's keys and became a homeowner last September, saying he'd gone from a 'Bury Boy' to a 'Dulwich Diva'.

"And by diva, I mean 'hustler' coz omg... I worked so damn hard for this," he said. "People say it's hard but loooordd was I tested. I'm honestly pinching myself, especially in these wild wild times."

The overall look of Layton's pad is clean with pops of colour and there's a nod to his lifelong love of dancing. The Strictly contestant is also a West End star, playing the title role in Billy Elliot the Musical aged just 12. He portrayed a young Michael Jackson in Thriller - Live and more recently starred in Rent and Everybody's Talking About Jamie, playing a young drag queen.

Standout features in the ground floor flat include a cosy snug area with bench seating built by the performer, and a shelf filled with vases and artwork including an eye-catching tomato print. The black fireplace contrasts with white walls and a fun sign above the bench seating says "Dancing" in red capital letters.

"I designed this cute lil snug area for some zen," said the star. "It's the perfect length for me to lay back, pop my feet on the radiator and chill." The Bad Education actor has built wardrobes in his bedroom, which is a minimalist sleeping space featuring an eye catching white and gold modern light above his bed. In the lounge, Layton has fitted a new radiator and painted his bay window frames a high gloss black, looking out onto the garden.

Door frames in the home are also painted black while in the eating area, the actor has installed clever storage shelving overlooking his table. Step into the kitchen area and there is an attractive colour scheme of light wooden worktops and white cupboards, completed with aluminium accents.
