Shakira issues brutal snub at ex Gerard Pique in awards speech at Latin Grammys
Shakira took a brutal swipe at her footballer ex as she scooped up three awards.
The hitmaker, 46, made a dig at Gerard Pique as she scooped up the gongs at the Latin Grammy Awards. She wowed at the event in Spain, where she donned four different outfits during the night. The Hips Don't Lie singer stunned in an emerald green cutout gown on the red carpet after taking home her impressive wins.
Shakira also wore a stunning black and gold corset dress, a gold gown with thigh-high slit and a patterned full bodysuit. She was awarded Song Of The Year, Best Pop Song and Best Urban Interpretation. During her win, the singer sweetly high-fived her seven-year-old son Sasha who sat in front row next to his brother Milan, 9.

Shakira, along with her collaborator Bizarrap, picked up their award from ex Pique's former Spain teammate Sergio Ramos. As she collected the award, Shakira thanked her fans for their support during "difficult moments".
It appeared to be a dig at the father of her two children. The couple announced their split in June last year after just over a decade together. Shakira had suspected the footballer was cheating when she found strawberry jam in her cupboards, which neither she nor her kids liked, hinting that someone else had been staying over.

Following their split, Gerard has moved on with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia, 23. Meanwhile, Shakira was rumoured to be linked with Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. At Thursday's awards, Shakira said: "I also want to share this with my Spanish public. You have been there accompanying me through the good and the bad, in difficult moments."
The singer moved from Barcelona to Miami following her split. She has made no secret of her feelings about the breakup and has appeared to take swipes as Pique in her recent tracks. In her single Empty Cup, she seemingly calls out Gerard, singing in Spanish: "You are always busy with so much business. It would be nice, my love, a little leisure.
"Relax here on the sofa and give me your attention. The phone rings, use your hand with me I know you're hot, but I'm much hotter." In January, she released a diss track with producer Bizarrap, called Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53. She made it crystal clear that she was referring to her ex and his 23-year-old new girlfriend, singing: "I'm worth two 22's. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio."
While the music video for her song El Jefe featured Lili Melgar, the nanny Gerard allegedly fired without pay. As well as popping up in a surprise cameo in the music video, Lili also appears to get a mention in the song as Shakira sings the words: "Lili Melgar. This song is for you, they didn’t compensate you.” Nanny Lili was reportedly fired without compensation after telling Shakira of her husband’s alleged infidelities.
